📣Close encounter Mid-Atlantic! While rowing 3,000 miles across the Atlantic, our team @get_busy_rowing were treated to an unforgettable moment as five to six whales surfaced and took a dive again right alongside the boat 🐋 One of the final moments of the display was caught on camera. A powerful reminder of just how wild, remote and spectacular the Atlantic can be. These are the moments our teams will remember for a lifetime. Video captured mid-ocean, with no filters - just nature doing its thing.👏 While unforgettable, the encounter was also genuinely frightening. As this whale came so close to the boat, the team briefly feared capsizing. A moment where the crossing could have ended in seconds. But once the adrenaline settled, the crew all agreed - the experience was worth every bit of the risk ☺️ 👉 Ready to watch the arrivals LIVE? “But what if you capsize?!” 😱 This is probably our most frequently asked question, and we can understand why! Ocean rowing comes with its risks, and capsizing is a reality we might face when rowing 8000+ miles across the Pacific Ocean. Which means it’s also one that we’ve trained for, so we know exactly what to do if it happens. Is this what you expected? We’d be intrigued to know 🌊 #seastheday #oceanrowing #rowing #pacific #pacificocean #nonstop #unsupported #capsize #advancecairns #ttnq

Day 22! It’s been a good 24 hours for rowing, despite the heat rash: mum covered 44NM between 8:00 yesterday and 8:00 today, and has just over 1600 to go! The wind’s a tad inconsistent this morning, but will hopefully establish itself over the course of the day. I’ll make a separate story about this, but for those of you who read these captions, you can access mum’s BBC Radio Scotland interview here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0mrwc6z @worlds.toughest.row #worldstoughestrow #solooceanrower #onelifeliveit #atlantic2025 #tribeyarnslife

Day 2 of not rowing across the Atlantic Ocean! Every day at sea I made a video and said “I’m rowing across the Atlantic Ocean by myself” but I had the world’s BEST crew. A HUGE thank you to everyone who sponsored the row, especially @redfishlakelodge @perfectamino and the Lexington High Class of 1984 The entire team @worlds.toughest.row made this journey possible. From getting to the start line, managing life at sea and then arriving in Antigua, I could not be more grateful for their support. There is a lot that happens behind the scenes in ocean rowing and their help from day 1 was outstanding. @rannochadventure, Lizzie, and the entire team at Rannoch helped me become an ocean rower having never stepped foot on a row boat when I decided to take on the Atlantic. Any success I had came from training with the best and rowing an incredible boat that took very good care of me. @oceanready Provided exceptional programming as I trained at the gym. I started as a complete beginner; the strength training prepared me so well for life on the Atlantic and I feel completely fine having now arrived in Antigua. @lightshipatlantic THANK YOU for adjusting my autohelm settings. I’m very grateful to not have capsized ❤️ @justonemorerow.atlantic it was so freaking amazing to have rowed the same year. The world is a better place when women do sports. My mom and dad ❤️ for handling the worst storms with grace and kindness. I love you so much. And YOU!!!! I could have never expected this journey would resonate with so many people. Thank you for supporting such a ridiculous, improbable endeavor. #worldstoughestrow

Ch 1, Scene 7 No American female pair has ever completed the World’s Toughest Row. That fact wasn’t part of our decision to do this. We found out afterwards. But you better darn well believe we’re excited about it! In the 27-year history of this race, hundreds of crews have rowed across the Atlantic. Solo rowers. Pairs. Fours. Men, women, mixed teams from all over the world. But an American female pair? Never crossed that finish line. Actually, never even made it to the start line. We’d like to change that. December 2027. Spain to the Caribbean. 3,000 miles. Two American women. No motor? No problem. Be sure to follow our journey.
