It doesn’t cost as much as you’d think to live off grid. My biggest expense is the building materials which once the house is 100% done it’s there FOREVER! I spend $150/year in taxes… Electricity is free once you have a few solar panels… I cook on propane and it’s $25 a month… I am very health oriented so I spend $30 on coconuts… My house is run on 100% rainwater, so no water bills… My Wi-Fi router only uses 30 watts and costs $25 a month… Overall this totals to less than a few cups of coffee from Starbucks hahaha… My goal is to inspire as many as possible to get out of the rat race and back into nature… The truth is you CAN live your dream life it just takes hard work and dedication… #offgridlife #offthegrid #offgrid #offgridhomestead #awakening #5D #newearth #spiritualgrowth

The reality is… when you live off grid, you’ve gotta remember a lot of little details because the light switches don’t just turn on automatically anymore. You are the power company, and it’s more than just paying a bill every month! It’s a humbling thing when the system fails and flipping a light switch does nothing at all. We’ve had many failures since moving here four years ago. We’ve spent Christmases in the dark, baked bread for farmer’s markets on mini generators because the power died inexplicably. The tell-tale sounds that get my stomach in knots : the beep of the oven as it powers off and on, the fridge cutting out and the sound machine going silent in the middle of the night. The anxiety. But we’re learning and growing and figuring out the quirks of this system. We try not to let the genny run out of gas, for fear of it messing up the automation. So when I made it just in time on Saturday, with only the smallest sliver left on the gas gauge, it felt like a huge win. It’s the little things!
