I worked for 7 years to live this moment. To stand on an Olympic start line — after a 14-meter fall that nearly took my life. There were days I couldn’t walk. Days I didn’t know if I’d ever be the same again. But setback after setback, I chose to fight. And today, I’m not just walking normally… I’m racing on the biggest stage in the world. I couldn’t be prouder of myself. Thank you to everyone who stood beside me — my family, my friends, my doctors, my club, my sponsors. This journey was hell. But it built the strongest version of me.

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to race today… wishing all my teammates a great race 💪🏻 🇺🇸 Thank you for all of the love and support I have received. Means the world to me. Doing my best right now…. 🙏🏻🤞🏻

First World Cup victory… I love this sport, I have loved it forever, and I will love it forever. I just want to say that if you put your heart into it, surround yourself with the right people, and work your ass off, anything is possible.

Recap of the past World Cup in Italy This past month has been heavy. Getting the news that I got an Olympic invite was reassuring but my country deciding not to send anyone for my discipline was hard to hear. I know it’s just one chapter of my story, and I’m grateful to everyone who has been following my journey❤️‍🩹 This is not the end and the season is not over🫶🏼

This is how it feels....after another dnf, while being in the lead... 🤬 (sorry for my language) When all the stress comes out from these past days, weeks, months of still not knowing if I have a road to Cortina ... From all those hard times of 3 years fighting alone* and following my goals and dreams. I feel strong and fast and get back on my feet time and time again. I keep going after every setback. I get up again and get ready to go again and again. Never giving up. But sometimes it's too much, it's tough and the tears won't stop 😭....an athlete can only handle so much pressure from outside, knowing they belong there on the highest stage. This one hurts big time, but I will keep fighting and show that I belong here. 2 more races to go 🤞 Not asking for your pity, but wanted to share the other side of elite sports you don't often see or hear about 🙏 *I couldnt have come so far without the support of family and friends, sponsors and the teams I so gratefully work with. They make the difference and keep me going! IYKYK. You know who you are....🫶

Surgery went well today! Thankfully I will be able to finally go back to the US 🇺🇸! Once I’m back I will give you more updates and info about my injury…. But until then, as I sit here in my bed reflecting, I have a few thoughts I’d like to share… I have been reading a lot of messages and comments saying that what has happened to me makes them sad. Please, don’t be sad. Empathy, love and support I welcome with an open heart, but please not sadness or sympathy. I hope instead it gives you strength to keep fighting, because that is what I am doing and that is what I will continue to do. Always. When I think back on my crash, I didn’t stand in the starting gate unaware of the potential consequences. I knew what I was doing. I chose to take a risk. Every skier in that starting gate took the same risk. Because even if you are the strongest person in the world, the mountain always holds the cards. I was willing to risk and push and sacrifice for something I knew I was absolutely capable of doing. I will always take the risk of crashing while giving it my all, rather than not ski to my potential and have regret. I never want to cross finish line and say,“what if?” And to be perfectly honest, I was stronger physically in that moment than I have been often in the past. Certainly stronger than I was when I ended career in 2019 where I got a bronze medal in the World Championships. And mentally…. Mentally I was perfect. Clear, focused, hungry, aggressive yet completely calm… just as I had practiced over the past few months when I was on the podium in every downhill this season. 2 wins and leading the standings… that was all a test to prepare me for the Olympics. Mentally, I was more ready than I have ever been. But just because I was ready, that didn’t guarantee me anything. Nothing in life is guaranteed. That’s the gamble of chasing your dreams, you might fall but if you don’t try you’ll never know. So please, don’t feel sad. The ride was worth the fall. When I close my eyes at night I don’t have regrets and the love I have for skiing remains. I am still looking forward to the moment when I can stand on the top of the mountain once more. And I will. 💪🏻❤️

My season isn’t going great and a lot of back pain isn’t helping. Still I am just at halftime, that means I will keep fighting till the end 👊

30 Chasing 30 - Episode 23 January has kicked my butt…. But you know what, I’ve taken some serious butt kickings in my career… and I’m still here. It could be that I’m stupid… or that I refuse to stop believing in myself. I know what I’m capable of, so it’s time to push on to what is next and keep moving forward.
