This didn’t happen overnight. And it wasn’t about buying better products. But these were the things that were quietly making me look older at 34. 1. Inconsistent sleep. Not just “too little”, but chaotic. My under-eyes looked inflamed even with good skincare. 2. Chronic rushing. Tight jaw. Raised shoulders. Fast speech. Stress changes your expression more than wrinkles do. 3. Drinking just because it was social. Puffiness lingers longer in your 30s. 4. Under-eating all day and crashing at night. Blood sugar swings show up on your face faster than you think. 5. Over-plucking and over-filling my brows. Subtle always reads younger than extreme. 6. Dressing in trends that didn’t suit me. Looking “current” isn’t the same as looking polished. 7. Living in constant stimulation. Late scrolling. Back-to-back plans. No stillness. Your nervous system affects your face more than any serum. ✨ I’m 39 and not afraid to admit… 1️⃣ I don’t have it all together — and that’s okay. I’m rewriting my story in real time. 2️⃣ I’ve lived with anxiety for as long as I can remember. I learned it from patterns around me — and thought it fueled my success… until I realized it was quietly draining me. 3️⃣ I still struggle with self-compassion. It took my spouse and a therapist to show me how hard I was on myself. 4️⃣ I’m learning that healing isn’t linear — I still have plenty of not great days — and honestly, that part is frustrating. 5️⃣ I’m rebuilding confidence that isn’t based on applause, achievement, or external validation. 6️⃣ I’m just now understanding that success means you can rest and still feel good about your work ethic. 7️⃣ I know social media can be toxic — comparison, noise, highlight reels. But I also believe there’s a corner of it that fuels positivity and peace. That’s where I choose to live. 8️⃣ I fear that when my kids are grown, they’ll remember me as overstimulated and unregulated — and that fear is fueling my desire for change. 9️⃣ Therapy taught me something I resisted for a long time — I can’t do this alone. Allowing people to help me is part of my healing. 🔟 I’m moving away from the idea that I should “age gracefully” and toward aging with audacity. There is no dream or corner of life I can’t claim when I’m ready for it. Those are my genuine thoughts and reflections. I’m just learning like the rest of us. I fear failure, but I’ve realized it’s part of growing & learning. I used to think that by 30, I’d have it all figured out, but I’ve come to accept that growth is a CONSTANT journey. I’m 46. And here are 5 things I finally started doing that changed everything. 1-I stopped putting myself last. Not “after the kids.” Not “when work slows down.” I started choosing me; on purpose. 2-I stopped being available at the cost of my own peace. I no longer over-explain, over-justify or soften my needs. Being kind doesn’t mean being exhausted. 3-I gave myself permission to dream bigger even at 46. Not smaller. Not “age-appropriate.” BIGGER. Because starting over isn’t just possible; it’s powerful. 4-I stopped living in survival mode and started living intentionally. I no longer make choices from fear, urgency or exhaustion. I choose routines, work, food, movement and rest that support the life I want; not just help me get through the day. 5-I gave myself grace. For past choices. For mistakes. For the time I thought I had lost. Because the truth is; I’m not behind. I’m right on time. And I’m just getting started. This isn’t a glow-up. It’s a return to myself. I’m 33 and I’m embarrassed to admit that… 1. I have no interest in dating after being drained from a 3 year situationship, and that scares me. My friends are getting married - and i sometimes worry that if I stay like this… i’ll end up alone. 2. I struggle with self worth. Growing up in an Asian household, I was constantly compared and told I wasn’t good enough. I’m still learning how to feel proud of myself without needing to prove anything to anyone 3. I’ve lost a lot of friendships after moving around so much. I now crave community, but didn’t realize how much harder it would be to build friendships in your 30s 4. I thought I’d feel settled by now and have a clear idea of what my future would look like. Instead, the idea of kids feels more complicated every year… especially when it already feels hard enough to find the right partner 5. I’ve always wanted to start on social media and finally took it seriously last year. It terrifies me to put myself out there and risk being judged, especially by friends and family 6. I struggle to wake up before 9am, no matter how many routines I try - and it makes me feel like I don’t have my life together more often than I’d like to admit 7. After doing so much self work, I’m more at peace than I’ve ever been… and also lonelier than I expected. In my 30s, I’ve realised this the hard way— Every time I felt low, stuck, or overwhelmed… I thought I needed a life reset. But honestly? I just needed a routine reset. Because on most days, it looked like this: No water. No movement. No clarity. Overthinking everything. So I came back to 5 basics: 1) Drinking enough water. 2) Moving my body daily. 3) Getting clear on my goals. 4) Eating without extremes. 5) Letting go of what drains me. And everything changed. More energy. More clarity. More peace. Same life. Better habits. In your 30s, you don’t need more. You just need consistency. It’s not your life. It’s your habits.
