After YEARS of saying I’d eventually do one…I did it! Here was my experience doing my first @parkrunuk as a slower runner. As someone who didn’t grow up sporty (I actually tried to avoid anything of the sort xx), I am still intimidated by running with other people and so I honestly didn’t really know what to expect going into my first parkrun. I asked you guys what you thought of it and OMG I don’t think I’ve ever had such a positive response about anything before 😂 Now I’ve done it, I kinda get the hype (although I would love it to be at 10am 😴). Everyone is truly there just to do their own thing, and I didn’t feel any judgement from anyone on my slower pace. There was no pressure to run the whole thing, or run at all with the last person finishing in over an hour. Little tip if you are a @runna user - you can store your parkrun barcode in the app and it’s super easy to set up! I’m wearing full @brooksrunninguk and am currently loving their Ghost Trail Trainers which were PERFECT for this course! #ad #parkrun #running #slowrunner

SUB 20 PARKRUN FOR ISABELLE Quite possibly one of the most fantastic things ive witnessed in real life. Isabelle Sparkle, who turned 10 in Feb has just smashed through the 20 minute barrier for running a 5km parkrun. Over the past few weeks Isabelle has been making huge progression with her times and after a bit of analysis it was clear her aging kiddy shoes despite being loyal workhorses were not the most optimum. So I bought her a set of Zoomflys and we unleashed this new team out onto Parkrun today with spectacular results. I wont go on too much other than to say this was an amazing effort by Isabelle, one I will personally remember for the rest of my life..... which I thought might end in mile 3 thismorning. My 5k park run pb is 14.23 I believe from a very long time ago - 2016 - wild. Pacing the hardestgeezez to 5k park run victory? Video on YouTube now - check Russ’ insta or YouTube.
