The developers behind the hit indie ‘friendslop’ game Peak have responded to claims that the studio has a ‘lazy dev cycle.’ ‘Neither us or [co-developer] Aggro Crab are live service studios, any update is a bonus not a right,’ the studio, Landfall, said. The original tweet, which has since been removed, was in relation to an April Fool’s Day tradition that Landfall had built, in which the studio releases a new game on April 1st. ‘Y'all are mad at Landfall for not releasing a game, I'm mad at Landfall for their lazy dev cycle for Peak when they could be doing so much more with it considering they're ending development of it this year,’ the fan post said. This year marked the first time in five years that the studio opted not to release a new game, citing that they had something in the works, but their small team was stretched too thin. The studio was quick to defend Peak’s update cycle, saying ‘it had sooo many updates,’ which were free for a game retailing at around $8. #peak #indiegame #gaming
