In order to develop the resiliency, grit, and resolve to navigate uncomfortable and potentially stressful situations, you have to step out of your comfort zone. This is exactly what the water provides to us, an environment in which your ability to breathe is hampered. You are now forced to perform difficult tasks such as moving with your wrists and ankles bound together (military specific). While initially, this may elicit a stress response, this allows you to further understand how your will feel in a stress inducing situation. Whether that is a high level meeting with corporate executives (business), rescuing an injured comrade (first responders / military), or dealing with general stress or anxiety, practicing how to regulate your breath, focus your mind, and embrace the discomfort is what Deep End Fitness is all about.
