🎨 The New Face Painting Trend: “6–7”… and the Hand Weighing Ritual 😂 Parents… we need to talk about the latest trend sweeping the under-10s. Not fidget spinners. Not Prime. Not Fortnite dances. I’m talking about the very serious, very official “6–7” decision-making method. Picture this: A child steps up to my chair. I ask, “What would you like painted today?” They go silent… Stare into the distance… Then hold out both hands like tiny scales and announce: “Ummmm… 6–7.” What does that mean? Nobody knows. Not me. Not their parents. Not the universe. Apparently the correct procedure is: 1️⃣ Look at both empty hands. 2️⃣ Whisper “6–7” like it’s a sacred spell. 3️⃣ Weigh up completely invisible options. 4️⃣ Change absolutely nothing. 5️⃣ Still not choose a design. Parents are behind them mouthing, “JUST PICK SOMETHING, PLEASE, WE HAVE OTHER CHILDREN.” Meanwhile I’m sat there like: “Okay sweetheart, when the spirits of the hand-scales speak to you… let me know.” Eventually they decide on something wildly unexpected like: “Blue tiger… but not too blue.” Honestly? I love them. The 6–7ers are in their mystical era and I’m just honoured to witness the ritual. #facepainting #facepaint #67

This past summer I got asked to take photos for a very special occasion: a 65/90 Party for not only just my neighbors growing up, but also family. While Terry a birthday milestone at age 90, him and Kay also celebrated 65 years of marriage! 💖 People traveled from across the country as well as from just down the road to share in this afternoon and celebrate together. What a beautiful time it was! 🥰 Even though I mostly captured photos that day, there were a few video clips I grabbed throughout the event, and I have pieced some of them together here. It's definitely not the perfect video but I wanted to share it anyway, because WHAT A LEGACY! ❤️ And if you're wondering how this ties into ag month, like I pointed out in an earlier post, rural America gets by with a little help from their community, and this was definitely a showing of love. ✨ (P.S. when my camera gets really shaky, that's because I was tearing up behind the camera and could hardly see 😜)
