What if we changed the value of pi? Short answer is, we can't. It's just a truth about the ratio of a circle's circumference to it's diameter... in a flat universe, atleast #math #pi

Pi won’t start repeating after a trillion digits. And it’s not because we checked the digits. We know π is irrational from a proof going back to Lambert in the 1700s. His result shows that if tan(x) is rational (and x ≠ 0), then x must be irrational. But tan(π/4) = 1, and 1 is rational. So π/4 is irrational → π is irrational. #pi #irrationalnumbers #mathreels #mathproofs

Pi is a special mathematical constant that represents the relationship between a circle’s circumference and its diameter, making it fundamental to geometry and anything involving curves or rotation. It appears whenever circles, waves, or cycles are involved, showing up in areas like physics, engineering, and signal analysis. Pi is irrational, meaning its digits never repeat or end, which reflects how mathematics can describe perfect ideas that can never be fully written out. More than just a number, pi connects shape, motion, and infinity, showing how a simple geometric idea can reach across many areas of math and science. #pi #mathconstants #geometrylove #mathexplained #mathmindset #learnmathdaily #studywithme #mathideas #mathcommunity #problemthinking #mathflow #studyreels #mathworld #circles #mathtok

Drop a needle onto a floor. Find π. 🪡 In 1777, Count Buffon proved that RANDOMLY dropping needles reveals the exact value of pi. No circles. No geometry. Just pure randomness. π = 2n/h — where n is drops, h is hits. We dropped 500 needles. The answer? 3.1447... #math #pi #probability #buffon #mathanimation

Pi is an irrational number that never ends or repeats 📐📐📐 starting with 3.14159 and going on forever. It cannot be written as a simple fraction like one whole number divided by another. Mathematician Johann Lambert proved this in 1768 showing no exact ratio of integers equals pi. π (pi) in mathematics. 🔢 What is Pi (π)? Pi (π) is a mathematical constant that represents: The ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. No matter how big or small the circle is: 📏 Value of Pi π ≈ 3.1415926535… It is: An irrational number (never ends, never repeats) An infinite decimal 🧮 Where We Use Pi 1️⃣ Circumference of a circle C = 2πr 2️⃣ Area of a circle A = πr² 3️⃣ Volume of a cylinder V = πr²h 🧠 Why Is Pi Special? It appears in geometry It appears in trigonometry It appears in physics It even appears in probability and statistics Even in waves, sound, electricity, and space science! 🎉 Fun Fact March 14 (3/14) is celebrated worldwide as Pi Day because 3.14 are the first digits of π. #pi #maths #irrationalnumber #explorepage #learning

Pi (π) is irrational because it can never be written as a simple fraction. No ratio—22/7 or even 355/113—can ever equal it exactly. Its digits flow endlessly, starting with 3.14159…, never repeating, never closing. Proven in 1768 by Johann Lambert, π reflects the true complexity of circles—the perfect ratio of circumference to diameter that rational numbers can only approximate, never capture. Pi is defined as an irrational number because it cannot be written as a simple fraction of two integers. Its decimal form goes on forever without repeating or forming a predictable pattern. No matter how precisely it is calculated, pi never ends and never settles into a repeating sequence, which is the key property that makes it irrational. Pi is an irrational number that never ends or repeats, starting with 3.14159 and going on forever. It cannot be written as a simple fraction, like one whole number divided by another. Mathematician Johann Lambert proved this in 1768, showing no exact ratio of integers equals pi. Follow @gzreel for more fascinating math facts like this. The endless, non-repeating decimals make pi truly special because every fraction, like 22/7 or 355/113, only gives an approximation that gets close but is never perfect. This happens because pi comes from measuring circles where the circumference divided by the diameter stays mysterious and infinite. It shows how complex and beautiful circular shapes are in nature and math. People have calculated trillions of digits of pi, yet no pattern ever appears, proving its irrational secret forever holds strong.

Did you know this fun fact! There is a neat numerical coincidence where pi to the fourth power plus pi to the fifth power comes out surprisingly close to e to the sixth power. If you plug in the numbers, pi is about 3.14159, so pi to the fourth is roughly 97.41 and pi to the fifth is about 306.02, giving a total near 403.43. On the other hand, e to the sixth, with e about 2.71828, is approximately 403.43 as well. The match is striking because pi and e come from very different parts of mathematics, with pi tied to geometry and circles, and e tied to growth, calculus, and exponential change. There is no deep theorem forcing this relationship; it is essentially a coincidence caused by how fast exponentials grow and how the specific powers line up numerically. Still, it is a fun example of how familiar constants can unexpectedly brush up against each other, reminding us that even unrelated ideas in math can sometimes land almost on the same number by chance. #math #funfacts #pi #e #equation

π is the constant ratio between a circle’s circumference and its diameter—about 3.14159. No matter how many circles you line up, this ratio doesn’t change. Visual analogies can be helpful, but π isn’t derived from overlaps—it’s a mathematical truth that holds across all scales. Follow @pi.mathematica for more interesting content on maths, physics & technology. DM for Credits/Removal.
