Lately, it’s become a huge trend to become a Pilates Instructor and the idea of doing ‘nothing but Pilates’ has become idolised 🙄 Although it may seem all pink and pretty, here are some things you should consider before becoming an instructor ⬇️ 1. You’ll never talk as much as you do as an instructor. Using your voice for multiple hours can be quite strenuous and physically draining. Make sure to use mics when you can! 2. Maintaining your own practice can be challenging. Investing your time to teach others means sacrificing your own. Make sure to find a balanced routine that works for you! 3. There are others ways to earn money than just teaching at studios. Consider hosting your own classes: think corporate classes, online or even at your local park! Get creative and connect with other instructors 👯‍♀️ 4. Learning doesn’t stop after you finish your courses 5. You won’t be the Pilates instructor for everyone. Every instructor has a different teaching style and clients will prefer some over others. 6. Making mistakes is normal. We’re all human! 7. You don’t need to say yes to everything. If 5am classes don’t work for you, don’t do them. 8. You don’t need to have a certain body type to teach Pilates!!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻

I wish more people knew this 👇 1. The Reformer might look intimidating but if you start with a Beginner class you will feel supported and challenged at the same time. If you Focus on the simple basics will make you feel so much more confident on the Reformer when you do start to progress 🥰 2. Pilates is a practice designed for longevity not quick fixes. I see people dip in and out of classes and wonder why they are not seeing results. Like any practice you need to continually show up, gradually progress your movements & spring load and you will feel and see the incredible difference. 3. You do NOT need to be flexible to start Pilates. It’s a common myth that you need to be flexible before you start Pilates. A big part of Pilates is working on mobility and increasing flexibility so you just need to get started and your flexibility will gradually improve. Day two of my journey to becoming a Certified Mat Pilates Instructor 🤍🫶🏻✨ Definitely felt very overwhelmed the second day of my first class, but, since then, I’ve been studying literally everyday, so I feel a lot more confident now.
