Magic - PILOT 👑👑👑👑 “Magic” is a 1974 single by the Scottish pop-rock group Pilot, serving as their first major hit and the lead release from their debut album From the Album of the Same Name. Written by band members David Paton and Billy Lyall and produced by Alan Parsons, it’s a breezy, upbeat track built around catchy melodies and an infectious chorus that climbed to No. 5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, hit No. 11 in the UK, and reached No. 1 on Canada’s RPM singles chart, where it also earned a gold certification. The song has enjoyed a long afterlife through radio play, movie soundtracks and even modern advertising, thanks to its timeless hook and sunny, optimistic feel. Pilot formed in Edinburgh in 1973 with Paton (bass/lead vocals), Lyall (keyboards/vocals) and drummer Stuart Tosh, later adding guitarist Ian Bairnson as they developed their polished, melodic sound rooted in pop rock, soft rock and glam rock. They found their peak success in the mid-1970s with “Magic” and the later chart-topping single “January,” charting internationally before winding down in the late ’70s; members went on to work with acts like The Alan Parsons Project and in session roles. Though their mainstream run was brief, Pilot’s combination of tight harmonies, radio-ready hooks and studio craft earned them a lasting place in classic rock playlists and the nostalgia of 1970s pop aficionados. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #magic #pilot #70sparty #1974 #70s

Supertramp- Dreamer- 1974📍 This song is about a guy with big dreams who is incapable of acting on them, so they never come true. As was custom with Supertramp, it was credited to their founding members Rick Davies and Roger Hodgson, who wrote separately but shared composer credits. “Dreamer” was written by Hodgson, who also sang lead. When Songfacts asked Roger in 2012 if he was a dreamer, he replied: “I am, and I definitely was even more back then. I was a teenager, I had many dreams. And I feel very blessed that a lot of them came true. But that song flew out of me one day. We had just bought our first Wurlitzer piano, and it was the first time I’d been alone with a Wurlitzer piano back down in my mother’s house. I set it up and I was so excited that that song just flew out of me.” The original demo for this song had the band banging cardboard boxes and electric fires and anything that clanged. Though there are some drums in the final mix, Supertramp wanted to duplicate the tempo of their demo, so there are also some cardboard boxes being struck somewhere in the mix. After Roger Hodgson left Supertramp in 1983, the band didn’t perform “Dreamer” live until their 2010 tour, where it was part of a three-song encore of cuts from Crime of the Century. Saxophonist John Helliwell explained in a 1988 interview. “It became a big number on stage.
