Growing Pineapples at home takes a bit of patience to get started just like most fruit, but once you taste your first homegrown pineapple you’ll agree that they are definitely worth the wait. I have gotten pineapple from the tops as soon as 18 month, but 24 months is a more realistic time frame. Pineapples do best in Full Sun 6+ hours per day. They won’t tolerate a sustained freeze, but luckily they grow very well in pots and can be brought inside for the Winter. They’l need a bright window or a grow light if so. I water my Pineapples weekly if we don’t get rain and I fertilize monthly with a couple of handfuls of compost (or a well balanced fertilizer works too!) #growingpineapples #growingfruit #foodforest
