It is not your diagnosis. It is not your medication. It is the word: reliably. Under PIP law, you must be able to complete an activity safely, repeatedly, to an acceptable standard and within a reasonable time. If you cannot do it reliably, it should not count as completed. . Here is how this impacts your form: Safely. If you can cook but leave the hob on or cut yourself, that is not safe. Say so clearly. . 2. Repeatedly. If you can manage something once but are exhausted or in pain afterwards, that is not repeatable. Explain what happens after. . 3. Acceptable standard. If you wash but miss areas due to pain or fatigue, state that. Quality matters. . 4. Reasonable time. If a task takes you twice as long as someone without your condition, include that detail. . The mistake many claimants make is writing: “I can do this.” Instead write: “I cannot do this reliably due to…” That single word changes how descriptors should be applied. . PIP is not about whether you can attempt a task. It is about whether you can complete it reliably on the majority of days. .
