Are you leaning forward at the end of your pitch????? Let’s talk about why — and how to fix it. A lot of pitchers think their finish is the problem, but most of the time, it’s what’s happening way earlier in the pitch that sets them up to struggle. Here’s the truth: If you’re leaning forward at the end, it’s usually because your chest never gets tall and stacked in the middle of your pitch. • After your launch, you need to get your body upright and big, with your chest stacked over your hips. • If you stay collapsed or never get “big” in the middle, you’re basically setting yourself up to fall forward at the end — no matter how hard you try to “fix” your finish. This is why I always teach my pitchers to look before the finish: • ✅ Are you driving out of launch with power and direction? • ✅ Are you stacked and tall in the middle? • ✅ Is your chest positioned to create whip before your arm even comes through? If any of these are missing, your finish won’t be strong or balanced — and it’s not because of what you’re doing at the end. Instead of only correcting the result, fix the setup. Get tall. Get big. Get stacked. When you do that, your finish cleans itself up — and the whip, speed, and control all improve naturally. 🎥 Watch closely in this clip — this is the position you need to own before you land and release the ball. Nail this, and everything that comes after gets better. Need help figuring out HOW to use your body effectively for power when you pitch? I can’t help! You asked for drills to improve your leg drive — here are three you can start working on today ✨ Remember, every pitcher’s leg drive looks different. Factors like height, flexibility, strength, and pitching style all play a role. The important part is staying explosive and powerful off the mound. Which drill are you going to try first? Want to throw harder? Do these 2 drills: 1. Get on a knee, rotate and reach out over your knee. The biggest problem players have is they want to rotate all together. Getting on a knee takes that problem away. Once you’re on a knee and rotated, you are creating the hip, shoulder separation from that position. Another variation is getting on 2 knees and having them staggered. Long toss from your knees. 2. Feet square, keeping your feet forward when rotating. When you’re reaching out you’re learning how to extend and use your core through your finish. Do those, you’ll start throwing harder. #baseball #baseballlife #baseballseason #baseballmom #pitching #pitchingdrills #baseballtraining #baseballgame

The reach and freeze drill is one of our original drills and to this day it’s one of my favorite and most useful drills, regardless of age or level This drill works on so many important parts of the mechanics, namely: ✅ driving OUT towards your target ✅ hip extension ✅ leg drive ✅ hands working together Basically this will works on really hitting that reach stage of the pitch, and this stage of the pitch sets your body up to the target and creates a healthy arm path When this stage of the pitch is off, we tend to see things like postural issues, arm path issues and drag foot collapse This drill can work to improve all of those things!! Day 1 of my 3 day intensive session with Stanford commit @avabulanti2025 and she has already made HUGE improvements!! She picks things up so fast! Can’t wait for day 2 and 3 🔥🔥🔥 . . . . . #fastpitchpower #fastpitch #softball #softballpitching #forearmfire #whip #onlinetraining #pitchingdrills #pitching
