There have been some updates since yesterday to support more snow coverage across parts of our area. Rain continues to be widespread during the overnight. As forecasted previously, as colder air moves in there's been a transition to snow primarily north and west of the city. However, that colder air has now moved further south which means more snow for portions of northern NJ, SW CT, and most of the Hudson Valley. The winter weather advisory has been updated to reflect those changes, which include northern Westchester, Rockland, Orange, eastern Ulster, Dutchess, Putnam, Sussex, western Passaic, Warren, and Morris counties. There's still a winter storm warning for Pike, Sullivan and western Ulster county has been added. Traveling will be difficult, especially across areas under a watch or warning. So, please take it slow if you must travel. Some areas could pick up several inches and further inland across higher elevations could get close to a foot of snow or more. The city could also see a few wet flakes; however, Long Island will likely remain wet. While flooding is not expected, there could be some ponding on roads where there's poor drainage. Now it looks like showers could linger longer. There may be some breaks but expect rain/snow showers to continue today into early tomorrow morning. Winds will also be a factor and will become blustery tomorrow. Looking ahead to Thanksgiving, there may be another storm with rain and snow. More details to come.
