In Point Break, Patrick Swayze interpreta Bodhi, il carismatico leader di un gruppo di surfisti–rapinatori appassionati di adrenalina. Una delle caratteristiche più iconiche del personaggio è proprio il suo amore per il paracadutismo, presente in alcune delle scene più memorabili del film. Swayze, già noto per essere uno degli attori più atletici e spericolati di Hollywood, era davvero appassionato di skydiving nella vita reale. Durante la produzione di Point Break insistette per girare personalmente molte sequenze di paracadutismo, cosa piuttosto rara nel cinema d’azione dell’epoca. In totale, si stima che abbia effettuato decine di lanci reali durante le riprese. Questo contribuì a rendere le scene estremamente autentiche: in vari momenti si vede effettivamente il suo volto in caduta libera, senza l’uso di controfigure. Proprio per questa sua abilità, la troupe gli permise di partecipare a riprese più tecniche, purché venissero rispettate alcune norme di sicurezza. Una delle scene più famose è il lancio di gruppo con Keanu Reeves (Johnny Utah): anche se alcune inquadrature sono state create con effetti speciali, molte delle riprese di Swayze durante la caduta sono reali. La sua passione per l’adrenalina contribuì in modo decisivo al tono del film e alla credibilità del personaggio di Bodhi. Point Break (1991)
