What if we told you there’s a Pokémon that built the ocean… and then was buried at the bottom of it because the world decided it was too much? This is Kyogre. The Pokédex calls it the personification of the sea itself. Not something that lives in the water—literally THE WATER! Kyogre is said to have expanded the oceans by summoning relentless rain and tidal waves powerful enough to reshape the surface of the planet. Before it, there was less sea. After it… the world had an ocean. It didn’t just live in it. It made it. And then there’s a line most people don’t stop on. Kyogre brought rain to places suffering from drought. This force of nature that could flood entire regions… chose to help people who were running out of water. It had the power to destroy and still used it to give something back. But then it fought Groudon. And that clash pushed everything to the edge. The planet couldn’t hold it. It took Rayquaza descending from the sky to force both of them to stop. And when it was over… Kyogre wasn’t remembered for what it gave. It was sealed away. Locked inside Seafloor Cavern. Put to sleep in the deepest parts of the ocean. Alone. Encased in rock. At the bottom of the very sea it created. The thing that made the ocean was buried under it. The force that gave the world water was told it was too dangerous to be awake. And it’s been down there ever since while the world above just… goes on.
