Everyone loves the throw around the term “Pilates Police” but there is no such thing. Sadly there is very little to stop someone from teaching Pilates and/or developing their own teacher training program with little to no credentials. No one checks. Luckily there are many reputable teacher programs out there. The purpose this series isn’t to recommend one but to give you a general guideline: the closer you can get to the source (Joseph Pilates) the better. I’ll get into why and how I chose my Teacher training programs in a later post. I finally got on the right track after a few wrong turns. There are some funny/embarrassing stories I promise! Your Friday morning minute- Cameras expand, autism awareness grows, and EMS cuts: Cameras are expanding across Pitt County, helping fight crime but raising concerns about how much driver data is being collected. In Jacksonville, police are stepping up autism awareness—expanding training and programs to better understand and safely respond to neurodivergent residents. And in Chocowinity, town leaders are cutting EMS services due to financial strain, with the county set to take over coverage in July.
