Our pool area is nearly complete, and I’m excited to enjoy the last weeks of summer right here! I’ve loved sharing the process from start to finish with you, here are answers to your most frequently asked questions: ⛱️ We chose a fiberglass pool for three reasons: quick installation, easy maintenance, and cost-effectiveness compared to the concrete option we originally planned. It requires fewer chemicals, less maintenance, and no refinishing. Plus its a god option for dogs too (my dogs love to swim) ⛱️ The size of the pool is perfect for our needs, and the depth allows us to dive in comfortably! ⛱️ Choosing the color was a big decision for me. I wanted something muted and natural, nothing too artificial. Believe it or not, the color of our pool is called ‘slate,’ which is a lovely shade of grey. With the water, it turned out exactly how I imagined. ⛱️ The only thing that took a bit longer than expected was installing the tile surround. We spent months doing research and planning our pool design! We wanted a pool we could swim laps in and didn’t want the tanning ledge and spa to take away from the length. Other things I would choose again: 9. Salt water - makes a huge difference on your skin and hair (no chlorine smell) 10. Pebblefina finish - one of the smoothest PebbleTec finishes 11. Sport pool - ends are shallow and middle is deep (allows for playing pool sports and let’s be real, most people end up hanging out in the shallow end) 12. Autofill (no need to add water to the pool, because it does it for you!) Let me know if you have any questions! It’s officially pool season here in Houston 🏊🏾‍♀️💦, well honestly we can pretty much swim year round here besides just maybe a few weeks or a month or two🙌🏾. We got our pool built last summer and initially I was in no rush to have a pool at our home given the fact that our community has multiple ones we can utilize, but now having our own it’s one of my favorite features at our home. Here’s a few pool features I’d do all over again: 1. The water bowl and waterfall features are such a vibe. I love the calming sound they provide and they just give an oasis feeling. We went back and forth initially between fire bowls and water bowls and I’m so glad we went the water route. We can turn these features on right from our phones! 2. The sun shelf in the shallow end of the pool is a great area for the kids and non swimmer to hangout and relax. 3. The built in table in the pool is definitely a fan favorite. The kids and their friends always gather around it to eat and drink. And us and our adult friends love having a cocktail while chatting at the table 😉🍹. 4. We also have a built in bench around the table providing seating and another entry into the deep end as well. 5. The fire pit is perfect for entertaining. We love making s’mores around it and gathering around it on chillier nights. 6. Lastly, being able to hear the pool was a no brainer. It allows us to swim pretty much year round 🥰.
