This is the "official" way to deal, you only touch your tiles. The dealer rolls the dice and breaks the wall. Curtsy the wall out and each player take their own stack of four tiles , followed by the top 1st and 3rd for the dealer and one for the remaining players. The dealer starts the Charleston with 14 tiles and the other players have 13. The dealer discards first and all players will have 13 tiles until someone picks or calls a tile for Mahjong.

Watch the mavens play a fun house rules twist! After the Charleston, they play “A Mush With Teeth.” 🀄 Each player may place up to four tiles face down in front of them — this becomes the mush. Then two tiles are drawn from each long wall and placed on the table. These four tiles are called the teeth. Starting with East, players take back the same number of tiles they contributed, but one tile must be a tooth, with the rest chosen from the mush. Once everyone has taken their tiles back, regular play begins — East discards and the game continues as usual. Try it in your next Mahj game!🎉 #mahjong
