🫙canning tip: never leave your rings (also called “bands”) on your jars once you’re done processing! Why? Because their purpose is just to keep the lids on the jars during processing time to help them seal. Once your jars are sealed and completely cooled after 24 hours sitting on the counter you’re gonna wanna take the rings off. That way, if the seal fails, you will know because the lid will lift right off easily with your fingers when you pick up the jar. ⚠️This is a safety protocol to know if your food has gone bad.
