狼犬モナミは雌にしては非常にガッチリした筋肉質の体格で、雄だと見られることも多々あります。 6週齢で私達の家族になったその日から完全な生食生活をしており、 接種したワクチンは6週齢になったばかりの時にブリーダーの所で受けたパルボだけです。 与えている食事は、PREY MODEL RAW (PMR)のFranken Preyモデルです。 これは日本で生食を与えておられる殆どのご家族が行っている生食法だと思います。 この食事法は非常に簡単で、複数の動物性食材を使い、私達のHPや過去のインスタ記事に載せている配合でWhole Preyモデルの様に「一頭の獲物」を再現し与える方法です。 小型犬を含めた犬達は1日一食を好み(自分達で決めている)、 其々いつ断食しなくてはいけないのかを知っており、 自分の満足感を感じる事ができるため与えた物を残す時もあります。 朝は、肉や脂肪がついている骨をテーブルの上にいつも準備しており、 その催促があった場合に与える時もあります。 食べる時間もバラバラで、時には夜中に食べることもあり、 夜中までに食べる様子がなければ食べずに寝る時もあります。 モナミの場合は夜行性である習性から、真夜中に食べる事もあるため、そのまま置き去りにして私達は消灯しますが、次の日の朝、全て食べてしまっている事が殆どです。 私達の犬達は4、6、7、8週齢の時から生食生活ですが、フード食であった子達が生食に移行する適応期間に下痢や軟便気味の子もいます。 その反面、長年フード食であったにも関わらず、生食を食べても直ぐに立派な便を排泄出来る子もおり、生食へ移行する際の犬や猫達の身体の反応には個体差があります。 ただ一つ共通して聞くことが、 「とっても美味しそうに食べてくれる」 という言葉です。 先日、12歳になるベルジアン・シェパード・ドッグ・マリノアがセカンドオピニオンで家族と来院しました。 抱えていた問題は下痢と食欲減退、そして食べたとしても食後に家中の床を舐めまわし、 散歩に行けば草食動物かと思うほど草を食べるという行動でした。 他の獣医であらゆる精密検査をしましたが、食べない原因は見つからなかったそうですし、 草を食べたり、床を舐め回す原因も分からないと言われたそうです。 さすがはベルジアン・シェパード・ドッグで、12歳には見えないバイタリティーがありましたが、1ヶ月与えるフードを食べなかったため痩せてしまってました。 私達の診断は「全ての行動は食べてる食事に原因があるのでは？」という事です。 床を舐める行動も、草を食べる原因も消化不良による吐き気でしょう。 抱えている慢性の食道炎も、胃酸の逆流で起こっているのだろうと思います。 最近与えられていたフードも、有名会社の物ですが、フードの質をみると「これが犬用なの？」というほどの酷い内容なので、消化不良を起こすのも不思議ではないです。 食事に原因があるという診断でしたので、試しにその場で動物性の食材だけを使った缶詰を開けて、ベルジアン・シェパード・ドッグの目の前に置いてみました。 すると物凄い勢いで、その缶詰をたいらげてしまいました。 飼主は「こんな食べ方を見たの初めてです」と目を丸くして驚かれてました。 最終的に処方した物は、質の良い動物性食材のみの缶詰と、 移行期の補助としてプロバイオティクス2号だけです。 何を食べても下痢をする様になったという話でしたので、今食べた缶詰で明日下痢をするか観察して頂くことになり、下痢の場合は連絡する様お約束しました。 幸い下痢になったという連絡は来なかったですし、食べてくれないという電話もなかったです。 こういうケースでよくあるのが、原因が犬にあるという専門家の一方的な見解で、与えられている食事に疑問を抱く獣医が少ないことです。 質の悪い食事や大量の化学薬品が関与するケースにホリスティック獣医療、統合獣医療としておこなう治療の第一スッテプは 体に合う食事をさせること 不要な化学薬品を減らすこと 運動を十分させること という極めてシンプルな基本的な事を先ず改善することです。 この基本が確り行われ、動物達の体が癒された時に、実際にどういった症状が残るのかを観察し、それに合う補助品を次のステップで処方します。 多くの場合、上記の基本を改善することで、抱えていた症状も改善するケースが大変多いです。 また、私達のインスタやHPを読まれる方々は既に気が付かれていると思いますが、私達が使う補助品であるハーブやサプリメントも非常にシンプルです。 生食を子犬や子猫の頃から食べており、不必要なワクチンや駆虫薬も与えられていない子達が病気で来院することは殆どないです。 生食されている家族も、換毛期の嘔吐や、ちょっとした下痢への対応も確りしていますので、 断食させ、スープを与え、プロバイオティクスや活性炭、クレイなどを与えることで、1、2日で改善する子ばかりです。 #家の犬達にはサプリは一切使わない #狼犬モナミ #バイオメンター動物診療所 #ホリスティック獣医学 #統合獣医学 #生食 #犬の生食 #猫の生食 #rawfeeding

Not all prey model recipes are created equal & we’ve taken care to formulate ours to be as nutrient-dense as possible to make supplementing easy-peasy 🤩 1️⃣ Quick & Easy recipe is perfect if you’re just starting out with raw or are short on time! Can’t get easier than 2 added ingredients 🤷🏽‍♀️ 2️⃣ Whole Foods formula is the most fun (in our opinion!) and great for giving your pup a variety of foods & textures 3️⃣ For picky eaters or pups with sensitivities, we recommend using liquid supplements with no taste/smell and mixing in thoroughly. It’s important to know your supplement concentrations, since depending on the brand, you may be adding in very small amounts! At the end of the day, there is no ‘best’ or ‘right’ way—do what works best for you and your pup! ❗Important: These recipes are based on AAFCO adult maintenance values and specific to Viva’s pure formulations. We highly recommend rotating through a variety of proteins—these recipes may need adjustment if you are only feeding one protein. Did you consider why 80% of adult dogs have dental disease? Increasing Skin issues, yeast infections, allergies, Cancer it goes on and on. Where is this coming from? Wolfdog Meal Prep 🐺🥩 A lot of people have asked me to do show a mealtime routine with these guys, and I finally got a video together! This shows how I make up their dinner bowls each night- all the meat items I have previously worked to cut, freeze, and then have at the ready to grab each night. Right now, the two wolfdogs eat between 10-15 lbs of meat per day, combined. I expect this amount to decrease somewhat in the summer (mine always want to eat less when it’s hot), and as Maeve finished her primary skeletal growth over the next 6 months. Doing all the meat prep labor myself allows me to afford feeding them a good variety, as seen here. However, their food is still an absolutely enormous expense, and is consistently between $500-$700 per month. If I were to buy the meat already sliced, frozen, and packaged, the cost would be MUCH higher! However, for people with less time but more income, buying premade foods is often more convenient and feasible- the “right” way to do something is often just the way that works for you! Both Faelen and Maeve are on a mostly prey model raw diet, consisting of 80% meat, 10% bone, 5% liver, and 5% other excreting organ. They eat some kibble for snacks at other times in the day, but only tolerate very high quality types, such as o@orijen. Higher content wolfdogs like my two often fail to thrive on commercial dog foods alone, and need raw foods to remain healthy. Lower content wolfdogs have been known to do quite well on high quality dog foods, and/or raw food diets. This is an important consideration for any prospective Wolfdog owner!

🇬🇧 Grocery shopping haul! 🍖 I try to vary the ingredients as they all have different nutritional profiles! 🐑 For example, lamb kidney and beef kidney are not the same! 📊 Beef kidney contains 4x more vitamin A than lamb kidney, while lamb kidney has almost double the vitamin B-12. 🐟 Though, here we are missing some ingredients for a complete diet: my supermarket didn't have mussels this time! 💊 I will also add some supplements: vitamin E, iodine, fiber... 🤔 Isn't it frustrating when you are missing one ingredient for your prep? 🇫🇷 Retour de courses ! 🍖 J’essaie de varier les aliments car chaque ingrédient a un profil nutritionnel différent ! 🐑 Par exemple, les rognons d’agneau et les rognons de bœuf ne sont pas identiques! 📊 Le rognon de bœuf contient 4 fois plus de vitamine A que le rognon d’agneau, tandis que le rogon d’agneau contient presque deux fois plus de vitamine B12. 🐟 Par contre, il n'y a pas tous les ingrédients pour une alimentation complète : mon supermarché n’avait plus de moules ! 💊 Et je vais aussi ajouter quelques supplément : vitamine E, iode, fibres... 🤔 C'est pas frustrant quand on manque un ingrédient pour sa préparation ? ❓Need help?
