Seriously though the Norwegians go crazy on the synths. Prins Thomas is one of the cohort amongst Lindstrøm, Todd Terje & Bjørn Torske, who contribute to the style and era of music labelled Norwegian Disco (and Space Disco tbh). I’ve mentioned the documentary “Northern Disco Lights” before which is a great dive into the formulation and social background of this sound. Prins Thomas’ output is prolific. Endless remixes and originals… the ones I’ve heard all sound like he’s had so much fun making them. Tracks varying from being 9 min deep wonky-town territory, to full hands in the air uplifting disco vocal bangers… check out the remixes of Gundelach “Games” + Confidence Man’s “Boyfriend”. Honestly, I’ve realised researching for this post, that I’ve only skimmed the surface.
