Don’t miss the previous parts of the series. 📌 The red model pushes itself downward while trying to stay afloat, 📌 The green model stays balanced with minimal effort, 📌 The yellow model, however, isn’t just trying to float, it’s fighting for every extra inch above the surface. Water doesn’t respond well to sharp, forceful movements, especially if they’re sudden and in a single direction. The same goes for uncontrolled splashes from above the surface. To move through water effectively, the limb must first grip the water, only then can it gather and push. Otherwise, the water escapes and pushes back in unwanted directions. 😰 The red model experiences this problem with both arms and legs. While repositioning its arms upward, it fails to soften the upward motion, and ends up pushing itself strongly downward instead. With no air pockets involved, the arms become the main force behind sinking. 😐 The green model doesn’t push water down, it guides it sideways to maintain position. It’s like holding onto your spot underwater. The continuous side-to-side motion makes both sinking and rising more difficult, which is a good thing here. Its legs manage upward and downward forces with balance. When repositioning, the legs barely scoop any water with their backside or heels, reducing upward thrust. A small upward nudge from the thighs may occur, but overall, it’s a “give 3, take 1” kind of efficient motion. 😦 The yellow model is strong in propulsion, but wastes energy. It repositions the arms cleanly, creating minimal upward thrust, but the technique is unsustainable. This is common in people who seem to push the water well, but move with half-panic. They’re not just trying to stay afloat, they’re trying to escape the water. Eventually, this often turns into the red model. Recently, we planned a spa party to relax, unwind and just chat with friends. So we all got our manicures, pedicures and blowdry done and when we came out looking all prim and proper, what awaited us was PAANI PURI.
