5 proposal tips every man needs (but no one actually tells you): 1. Decide how you want the surprise to land — both options are great. Some guys love the moment of walking her to the spot themselves — it’s intimate, personal, and feels like “your thing.” But if you want the max surprise factor, another option is for you to arrive first and have someone bring her to you. Both work beautifully. It just comes down to the type of moment you want and how easily she picks up on your nerves. 2. Don’t over-plan before hiring your photographer. Photographers do WAY more than take pictures. We help with timing, lighting, where to stand, how to keep the surprise, and all the little logistics you’d never think about. Hiring us early makes the entire plan easier (and usually better). 3. Pick a location where she won’t feel watched. Big crowds can make the moment feel awkward or rushed. Choose a spot with some privacy so she can react naturally — tears, laughter, all of it. 4. Practice the moment you get down on one knee. Not the speech — the logistics. Which pocket is the ring in? How are you pulling it out? Are you facing the camera or blocking her reaction? Just a quick run-through helps you feel confident instead of fumbling. 5. Have a post-proposal plan. A dinner, a family gathering, a champagne toast, or even just more photos — the moment feels complete when there’s something meaningful right after. A proposal is one of those once-in-a-lifetime moments you only get one shot at… a little strategy goes a long way. If you know someone planning to propose soon… send this to him immediately. 💍🔥 #engagement #engagementsession #engagementphotoshoot #engagementphotographer #prewedding #proposals #proposal #proposalphotographer #michiganengagementphotographer #michiganproposal #wedding #weddingphotography #traversecityweddingphotographer #traversecitywedding #michiganweddingphotography #michiganweddingvideographer #traversecityweddingvideographer #traversecityvideographer #weddingphotographer #michiganweddingvideographer

Do not forget to STAY on one knee. Getting on one knee is good!! But the key to make the Propsoal extra special is staying on one knee the whole time. 💍 #proposaltips #utahproposal #provoweddingphotographer #utahweddingphotographer #fyp

Send this to the guy who needs it 👏🏼 Okay, when you get down on one knee… Stay there for at least 20 seconds (You don’t need to count lol) but talk to her when you’re down there! Give her your speech, tell her how much you love her and how much she means to you. It goes by SO fast, and your girl will essentially black out 😂So give her a chance to see you down on one knee! Let her enjoy the moment, and take it in before you put the ring on her finger 💍 Don’t just get down, “will you marry me” and get back up!! Take your time, breath through it, give yourself time to enjoy it too! No need to rush one of the best moments of your life 🥹 OH AND hire a good photographer 😉 #proposaltips #seattleproposalphotographer #seattleweddingtips #seattleweddingphotographer #proposaladvice #seattleproposals #weddingtipsandtricks #luxuryweddingphotographer #destinationweddingphotographer #destinationproposal

If you’re looking to put a ring on it, let’s chat some practical tips ⬇️ But first, if you’re watching this and know a guy getting ready to propose, share this with him. And if you’re a girlfriend trying to throw some hints, go ahead and tag him 🤣 Being in South FL as a hot spot for destination proposals, it has us shooting a ton of them and here are some tips for the fellas… - Make sure you make the proposal about you both and your love! Don’t try to pull out all the stops if you both are more reserved and introverted. - If you want to truly capture the moment, hire a photographer (preferably one with experience who can help you plan it all out) ! That way you can have beautiful pictures of the big moment to treasure for years to come. - When you’re getting down on one knee, make sure you stay down for at least 3-5 seconds so your photographer can capture that epic shot. - Try buying a thinner ring box so you don’t have to figure out how to hide a huge bulky one. And practice opening the ring box (trust us, you don’t want to drop the ring like Vic did 😆) Did we miss any tips?! 5 things every guy should know before he proposes 💍 If your boyfriend’s planning to propose soon, send him this. 👀 There’s always that wait… this is really happening moment before it goes down. The nerves, the overthinking, the “what if it’s not perfect?” spiral. Here’s your reminder: it’s not about being perfect, it’s about the feeling behind it. 💕 Here’s what every guy should know before he pops the question: 1️⃣ Talk to her people, not for permission but for a little perspective. Her parents, her siblings, her best friend. 2️⃣ Plan the vibe. Does she want something private and cozy or big and unforgettable? 3️⃣ Get the photo. Trust us, you’ll both want to relive it forever. 4️⃣ Practice what you’ll say. Nerves steal words fast. 5️⃣ Make it yours. Forget the Pinterest version, real always wins. This is the moment that starts everything. 🤍🤍 Tag your person if this is your year💍, send this to a friend who is proposing soon, or save it for later! 😉 #proposal #engaged #stlouiswedding #hauevalley #missouriwedding #wedding #weddingphotography #stlouiswedding #stlouisweddingvenue #weddingplanning #proposalring

guys, don’t make these proposal mistakes!💍🚨from bad lighting to rushing the moment, here’s what not to do if you want perfect photos and an unforgettable proposal. save this for later & tag someone who might need this!👀✨ #proposalplanning #shesaidyes •not sharing your location with the photographer—constantly texting updates can ruin the surprise. share your location ahead of time so they can track you discreetly✨ •not giving yourself enough time—i’ve photographed proposals where couples planned for golden hour but arrived late due to traffic or other delays, costing them the best lighting and fewer great shots. always allow extra time to get to the location✨ •not having a subtle signal for the photographer—a small gesture (like fixing your jacket) can help cue the photographer so they’re ready for the big moment. i’ve photographed proposals where they proposed in the wrong spot so all you see is me sprinting to catch the moment 😭😂 •not considering professional decor—a well-styled setup with florals, candles, or a backdrop can make your proposal (and the photos) look even more stunning!✨ •rushing through it—don’t just drop to one knee and blurt it out. stay down for a moment, talk to her, and let the photographer capture the emotions!!✨ •proposing in bad lighting—midday sun creates harsh shadows, and dimly lit areas make it hard to get sharp photos. golden hour is your best friend✨ •not considering video—if you’re not hiring a videographer, consider asking the photographer if they can set up a phone to record the moment for a special keepsake✨ •not planning what to do after the proposal—whether it’s popping champagne, taking more photos, or going to a special dinner, have a follow-up plan to keep the excitement going!✨ •forgetting to enjoy the moment—this is one of the biggest milestones of your life. take a deep breath, be present, and soak it all in✨ OH!! and not hiring a professional photographer!!😉 #portlandproposalphotographer #vancouverwaengagementphotographer #pnwphotography #surpriseproposal #engagementphotographerportland #couplesphotoshootpnw #romanticmoments

1. Plan everything out in advance. For the proposal to go well you can’t just wing it. I thought through the timing, the location, the words I wanted to say, and even the little details that would make it feel us. Having a plan kept me calm and let me focus on the moment instead of the nerves. 2. Know what kind of proposal she’s dreaming of. This isn’t about what you think looks cool — it’s about what she’s always imagined. Big or small, public or private, knowing her heart made all the difference and made the moment feel truly special to her. 3. Have an after-party with the people you both care about most. The proposal is just the beginning. Celebrating afterward with family and close triends turned one pertect moment into a full night we will never forget. 4. Practice Practice Practice! I practiced what I wanted to say more t times than I’ll admit. You don’t have to memorize a speech, but knowing your words helps you stay present and emotional instead of frozen when the moment finally comes. 5. Get the ring right The ring doesn’t have to be the most expensive, but it has to be her. Pay attention to her style, her hints, and what she loves. You can add uniqueness with the box as well! #fiance #engagement #couple #proposal #proposaltips

Planning a Proposal in the next 2 years? I’m giving you my 6 biggest tips to plan an unforgettable proposal, and I’ve captured over 20 of them, so I know what I’m talking about. This is part 2 of 2. #4 Make sure it’s a surprise: The problem is, your partner will want to look nice. If you ask them to dress up for no reason, it would be suspicious. You can ensure they are looking great by planning a decoy event - aka lying to them. Here are a few options: 1. Get your friends to fake plan a dinner party, a birthday party, some kind of celebration. 2. Another option could be to have their family plan a ‘family photoshoot’ so they have to dress up! Bonus points because a photographer will be there. 3. Finally, you could keep it casual by proposing during your typical Sunday routine so it is an extra surprise. #5 Kneel carefully I’ve seen people bash their knees on rocks, so just double check you know where you’re kneeling. Pro Tip: When you kneel, make sure you talk for at least 20 seconds. This allows your partner to truly soak up whats really happening and savour the moment. #6 Celebrate in style The proposal doesn’t have to end after you get back up off your knee. You can plan more celebrations afterwards. For example, I’ve seen people plan a surprise dinner with all their loved ones after, or a surprise weekend getaway where their best friend packed their bags. If that’s not your style, you could go classic and have a friend decorate your home with rose petals and treats for when you get back. The options are endless. You’ve got this, and I’d be happy to answer any questions you have! I’ve also created a complete proposal guide on everything you should consider when you’re planning your proposal! Simply comment (or DM me if you don’t want your partner to see) the word ‘Proposal’

Before you propose… read this 🤍 1. Choose the location for her, not Instagram. Public or private, it should match her personality. 2. Hire a photographer (if you can). She will probably blackout from emotions. Photos & videos will be the way you relive this moment forever. And I help you plan everything, not just take pictures. 3. Don’t tell everyone. The fewer people know, the better the surprise. 4. Think about her hands (and yours). They’ll be in every ring photo. 5. Make the ring easy to reach. Right pocket. Slim box. Practice once. 6. Don’t rush the kneel. Open the box. Let her see the ring. Wait 10–15 seconds… then ask. 7. Choose neutral outfits. Timeless > trendy. 8. Plan what happens after “yes”. Dinner, a walk, flowers… I plan & photograph proposals in NYC / NJ / CT You focus on the question!!! I’ll take care of the rest.
