Voters should pick their representatives, not the other way around. Glad to get the chance to talk to some of the volunteers and organizers doing the hard work to make sure Prop 50 passes. This vote will have critical implications, not just for California, but for our entire country.

🚨🚨🚨 We just learned that the House is going to be voting TOMORROW on H.J.Res 140: the single largest threat posed to the Boundary Waters to date. This bill would *permanently* open the Boundary Waters up to mining, and prevent all future administrations from protecting these public lands. This would pave the way for sulfide-ore copper mining in the region — the most toxic industry in America — which has never been allowed in Minnesota before. It would cause irreversible damange to the most visited wilderness area in the country. And this would be a massive sell-out to foreign interests over the American people. This would give mining rights to Trump’s Chilean-based mining company billionaire buddies, who will extract our resources, pollute our air, land, and water, permanently damage our pristine Boundary Waters, and leave Minnesotans to foot the bill for the clean up. I’m urging all of my colleagues to vote NO. We need to get loud and stop this legislation.
