#Protea Pants

Thoughts on my latest make, the Protea Pants from @paradisepatterns This is probably the longest reel I’ve ever made (?) but I want to share more info so that’s what I’m gonna do! I meant to say “side seam pockets,” not “side slit pockets” but you get the idea ;p #sewing #proteapants

PROTEA PANTS I love these!! Trousers without an elastic waist that fit perfectly. I made a size 4 based on my waist measurement. The finished garment measurements for the hips have generous ease so this was fine. I initially made the 32” inseam but ended up cutting off about 1.5”… I’m 173cm tall but actually most of my length is in my torso. I hemmed them by hand with a blind hem. Really really pleased with this pattern the instructions ate very clear and the fit is top notch 🫡. Fabric is @minervadotcom core range washed linen (200gsm). Top is the lovely #camisoleno4 which I’ve wanted to make for years. I knitted it in the @knittingforolive pure silk in Rose Clay. This yarn does stretch out hugely when wearing - I didn’t sew the straps down until after washing but I still feel like it’s growing! Made a size S. Eugh. Really wanted them to not fit 😂 I'm going to have to replace that back leg now, these are definitely worth saving (if you don't know what I'm on about, just go back a couple of Reels and you'll see what I did 🤣). Definitely going to cut another pair and hopefully they'll go to plan! Forgot to show you the line drawings! Here is View A on the left, and View B on the right. The only difference is the pleat! The pattern also gives you optional topstitching throughout the pattern. #ProteaPants

Sewed my dream white linen trousers. These are the perfect summer pants! They’re the #proteapants by @paradisepatterns and I love all the details. I changed the single pleat to double pleats but didn’t make any other changes to the pattern. These are a size 8 with the waist taken in by a couple inches. I used a gifted stretch linen from @minervadotcom and they are so so comfy. Top is the #blommatank also by @paradisepatterns. This outfit is all I wanna wear all summer. The wide leg pants of my dreaaammms. I gave you guys a little peek of these in my stories last week and I received so many messages - seems ya’ll love them as much as I do. This was my second pair of #proteapants and I just love everything about this pattern. Not too many pattern pieces, simple, yet effective techniques and clear instructions.
