When I felt stuck in my corporate career, I thought I needed to overhaul everything. (You might have been there too.) I kept asking, “What’s wrong with me?” But the truth was, it wasn’t me — it was the foundation I was standing on. I realised there are five pillars every career rests on, and if one’s shaky, it throws everything off: 1. Credibility Are you being taken seriously? ↳ Show your expertise, consistently. 2. Visibility Do people know what you deliver? ↳ If not, start talking about it. 3. Profitability Are your skills earning what you deserve? ↳ If not, renegotiate or upskill. 4. Agility Can you pivot quickly? ↳ Lean into adaptability — it’s a superpower. 5. Curiosity Are you still hungry to learn? ↳ Growth starts with curiosity. I looked at my own pillars, found where the cracks were, and started rebuilding one at a time. When I did, I didn’t feel so stuck anymore — and you won’t be either. Find the shaky pillar, focus your energy, and watch how quickly the foundation steadies. P.S. Which pillar feels shaky for you right now? When I felt stuck, it was curiosity — I had stopped learning. What about you? #careergrowth #growth #careerdevelopment #career #visibility #confidence

The #1 question I’ve been getting this year is: “How do I figure out my career when the job market and AI are wild?” And I think I found the answer. #LinkedInPartner There have been SO many thought pieces and speculation about how work is changing with the economy and this new age of AI and @linkedin just released the first ever career playbook tackle modern career issues. It’s written by LinkedIn’s CEO and Chief Economic Officer. It’s called “Open To Work”, and there are 3 key concepts that stood out: 1. AI is not coming after your job. It’s coming after your *tasks*. 2. You need to focus on the things that make us uniquely human. Researchers found that they are the 5Cs: Curiosity, Courage, Creativity, Compassion, and Communication. 3. Careers are not ladders anymore. They’re climbing walls. They’re nonlinear. This 1 minute video barely covers the insights that this book has to offer. I got an early copy of it, and I absolutely love the reframing of approaching your career. It has frameworks and tactical career advice that *actually* work in today’s evolving workplace based on research from LinkedIn and Microsoft. It’s given me so much clarity on where to focus on my own efforts as someone on my own career climbing wall. If you’re looking to build a long-term career, I highly recommend reading this book! The question ‘What is my purpose?’ is a big, loaded and daunting question. It can overwhelm us, hinder our motivation and impact our ability to take the steps that help us connect with what brings us a sense purpose. Research shows that, for most people, passion comes after they try something, discover they like it, and then develop mastery over time, not the other way around. Sure, some people have a distinct passion, a singularity of purpose, that they have probably known from early on in life, but most of us aren’t wired this way (otherwise we would have probably done it in a heartbeat). In reality, most people are passionate about many different things (many of which they’re not even aware of because it’s so innate in them that they take it for granted) and the only way to know what they want to do is to “get their hands dirty”— aka try things out—and see what really resonates with them. If you’re at a career crossroads—asking yourself questions about who you are and why you are here—you don’t need to know what’s your one single passion in order to figure out what’s next. You only need to put yourself on the path of exploration, once you do that, you’ll start discovering the things you truly love, passion or not. To help you with that, I created the Try Before You Leap guide—Tiny Projects for Big Transitions—a practical, step-by-step guide designed to help you move from ‘thinking’ into ‘action’. Comment “Leap” if you want to get unstuck and I’ll DM you the link with all the details 😘

Not that there’s something wrong with the traditional 9-5 route but I just felt like it wasn’t for me. You do you boo. Here’s what I did to manage a career change at 25 years old. 1. Created a 3 month runway for myself before I decided I didn’t want to do a 9-5 again. (Because let’s be honest, once you start making your own money you don’t like borrowing money from your parents) 2. Experimented with different domains to understand I like and what I don’t. It Helped me understand myself better. I tried sales, HR and operations. I didn’t like any of it and also tried applying for masters which didn’t work for me. 3. Learnt new things and started a couple side hustles to make some money on the side. (I’m a freelance social media manager and a product photographer.) I did take a break for a few days where I did absolutely nothing and went on family trips. (Tbh, I needed that) I discovered that I had developed a back condition called scoliosis which needed some attention, focusing on my health for a bit helped me improve both my mental and physical health. If you’re on the fence about switching careers, I just want you to know that it’s never “too late”, you’re never “too old” and there is no “right time” to go after it. Pursue your passion project in whatever capacity you can if you can’t switch careers and do what you love for a living. I promise you, it makes you happier 🫂🫶🏻✨ Let me know if there’s anything else you would do if you were switching careers in your mid twenties, I’d love to know! What do you do for a living?
