I spent a lot of time practicing ruler Quilting on smaller practice pieces to focus on building good technique. When I have an actual Quilt ready to finish, I apply the techniques I’ve polished. Is it more difficult to quilt a bigger piece? Yeah. However, it is easy to manage the bulk of a larger quilt by folding up the edges so they don’t fall off the edge of the table, creating drag. Today’s tip: To prevent an arched row, don’t sew each element (or block) to the end of the row as you go, one at a time. Instead, sew elements together in pairs first, then sew the pairs together, then the quads, etc. This will give you a nice straight row! #jillilystudio #quilting #sewing #piecing #quilt
