🟢 or 🔴 - which wet line do you prefer? In wet weather conditions you have 2 options: 🔴 short & slow speed, 🟢 or fast & high speed. Here’s how to get faster👇 1. You’re not slow — you’re braking too late Most drivers think later braking = faster lap times. In reality, earlier, smoother braking lets you get back to throttle sooner — and exit speed is everything in karting. ⸻ 2. You’re not losing grip — you’re over-driving the entry If the kart slides on turn-in, it’s not lack of talent. You’re asking the tire to do too much at once. Slow the entry, square the corner, and let the kart rotate naturally. ⸻ 3. You’re not bad at racing — you were taught to “attack” every corner Aggression feels fast, but patience wins races. The fastest laps look boring: calm hands, minimal steering, zero drama. ⸻ 4. You’re not inconsistent — your line is Most drivers chase lap time instead of repeatability. Same braking point, same turn-in, same throttle every lap = speed comes automatically. ⸻ 5. You don’t need more power — you need a better exit People obsess over engines and setups. But in karting, exit speed onto the straight matters more than entry speed into the corner — every single time. #karting #racing #motorsport #gokart #race

Read Below ⬇️ If you’re new to my page, welcome! I’m constantly getting DMs about how to bridge the gap into racing.. Thought I’d break down the 5 most important tips that I could give & have been given: (#5 is literally a game changer) Tip 1: Determine what type of racing you want to get into before you dive in. I know 40-50 year old guys who are in karts.. and absolutely love it. And others who spend some serious $$ on cars, but wished they would have started in Miata’s for proper car control. Point being, determine what’s best for YOU, and be specific. Tip 2: SIM SIM SIM If you’ve seen any of my other posts, leveraging sim racing has SINGLE-HANDEDLY allowed me to be prepared for when I first got into a car on track & eventually a race car. How so? Knowing the direction of the track, racing line & (general) braking points. When & when not to trail brake, how to left foot brake, etc. Sim work has also taught me how to be spatially aware & watch out for dumb drivers! Countless times cars have spun out in front of me in the sim. It’s since happened multiple times IRL & didn’t flinch due to the muscle memory created by the sim. Tip 3: HPDE = High Performance Driving Education This is the gateway! You can bring YOUR car (or even rent a car) to the race track and drive with an instructor. It will be the single most fun you’ve had in years..You dont need a Porsche to go to the track. I’ve shared the track (no joke) with Saturns, VW Beetles, older sedans, etc. Tip 4: $$$$ Funding Racing is expensive no matter which way you cut it. But there are cost effective options out there. Champ Car, Lemons, older-make spec series, etc. I worked my ass off for 10 years in Corporate America to afford myself this opportunity.. others will have alternate means of funding (family/network who is willing to help). Regardless of how, funding will play a large factor. Tip 5: is the absolute most important tip and it’s FREE! Follow @djoc.racing comment & DM “racer” and I’ll send you the best piece of advice I was given & wouldn’t be here today without 🤩 . . . #racer #racecar #motorsport #motivation #dream #fyp #simracing #driver #rushsr

Racing is about far more than just going fast.. It’s an art & a science which forces you to balance finesse with technique to ultimately push the car to its grip limits. Some might think this is an easy task since there’s only a few components: steering, shifting, throttle & brake.. and naturally people compare it to being able to stomp the throttle on the highway & going “fast”. But the reality is far more technical. Each input has its own impact on the car. This mixed with external changing factors such as track temps, tire degradation, etc can cost milliseconds which can ultimately ruin a lap, cause a spin or wreck. This coupled with being just inches away from other cars & drivers who are also calculating split second decisions, adds a mental strategy element. These are just some of the reasons why racing is such an incredible sport and has so many drivers addicted to the progression that comes with it. Whether you’re brand new into sim racing or are a seasoned pro, there will always be areas of improvement & likely someone faster who will race you to the finish line. Enjoy the journey and keep working to achieve greatness.
