📻 In this project, I have built a simple yet powerful Regenerative Radio Receiver using a single BC337 transistor. This circuit is an improved version of a crystal radio, offering much higher sensitivity and the ability to receive weak AM signals clearly. 🔧 How the circuit works: The heart of this radio is a tapped coil (80 turns) combined with a variable capacitor. Together, they form an LC tuning circuit that selects the desired radio frequency. - The first 20 turns of the coil are connected to the antenna. This section captures radio signals from the air while reducing loading on the main tuning circuit. - The remaining 60 turns act as the main resonant coil. Along with the variable capacitor (500 pF), it determines the tuning frequency and helps in signal amplification through regeneration. A 4.7 µF electrolytic capacitor is connected between the tap point and the transistor base. This capacitor allows the AC radio signal to pass while blocking DC, ensuring proper biasing of the transistor. The BC337 transistor works as both an amplifier and detector. It amplifies weak RF signals and also provides positive feedback (regeneration), making the receiver more sensitive and selective. A 100k resistor is used to bias the transistor base, ensuring stable operation. The ceramic capacitor (around 100 pF – 1 nF) connected between collector and emitter acts as an RF bypass. It stabilizes the circuit, reduces noise, and helps control regeneration. Finally, the 0.22 µF capacitor couples the detected audio signal to the earphone, allowing you to hear the radio broadcast. ⚡ Unlike a crystal radio, this circuit requires a small battery (1.5V), but in return, it provides much stronger and clearer audio output. 🎯 Key advantages: - Higher sensitivity than crystal radio - Can receive weak AM stations - Simple and low-cost design - Uses only one transistor 📡 This project is perfect for beginners and electronics enthusiasts who want to explore radio frequency circuits and understand how regeneration improves signal reception. #Electronics #DIYRadio #RegenerativeReceiver #BC547 #AMRadio CrystalRadioUpgrade
