Kirati santan hamilai chinnu paryo hai !🫣❤️ #Raini#Raisong #somiksha #dharannepal

This post isn’t about boycotting sarees and lengas or saying you can’t wear them. Sarees and lengas are fine, but we shouldn’t place sacred symbols like the Chindo or Bunchat on the borders. Placing these holy symbols near our feet is disrespectful to our Rai culture. In Rai culture, Chindo and Bunchat are sacred tools used for rituals and connecting with ancestors. Placing them on the hem of a saree or a lower garment is seen as impure or disrespectful. In Rai culture, the Chindo (or Wabuk) is a traditional bottle made from a dried, hollowed-out gourd. It is a very sacred symbol for the Rai people and represents a deep connection to nature and our ancestors. The Chindo is much more than just a bottle; it is a holy vessel used in almost all important religious ceremonies and rituals. In Rai culture, the Bunchat is a sacred emblem that serves as a powerful symbol of Rai identity. It is believed to represent three vital elements: the sky, air, and earth, while also embodying knowledge and protection. Traditionally, it is worn as a small necklace or badge, and it is considered highly disrespectful to wear it in the wrong place, such as on the lower parts of a garment. Also Bunchat should not be worn as sirful. It is great to use Rai patterns and fabrics to create a ‘Rai-style saree,’ but we should not label these modern designs as ‘Traditional Rai Attire.’ When we push these modern styles as our actual tradition, we risk overshadowing our true, original clothing. To be clear the problem is not “Rai-styled” saree The problem is our cultural symbol that plays major roles in our Rai culture being placed where it shouldn’t be. Another problem is these “Rai-styled” saree being pushed into us as “Rai traditional dress” which is not true. Bunchat is not our sirful or chandrahar. Bunchat is traditionally only worn as badge and necklace hung on small string. Buddhi Gatho or bunchat is not a sirful, it is traditionally worn as badge or necklace. #khamburairaini #raiculture #raidress #raiornaments #raini
