It's crazy how close Randy Brown was to being grounded in these old rulesets where a hand on the ground makes you a grounded opponent. Both Randy Brown and Vicente Luque are fighting in this upcoming card this weekend so definitely a very relevant fight to post as it also happened back in 2020 so not too long ago. In the replay, you can see Luque lift up the head of Brown just enough where he has to reach a little harder to get his hand to touch the ground which gave Luque just enough time to throw the knee to his head that put him out. This fight as well as his text two fights, would all earn Vicente Luque performance bonuses after securing two first round D'arce Chokes against Tyron Woodley and Michael Chiesa. It was after these fights tho where he went and lost to Belal in their rematch and then to Geoff Neal and then Joaquin Buckley. Really hoping he pulls of something cool this weekend because he just looked out of it in his last performance against Buckley. Buckley's great but I feel it didn't even really make me much more impressed by him because of Luque not fighting the same.
