✨IMHO React vs Next JS Helloooo everyone!🙌👏🦦 Today I wanted to share my personal take on React vs Next JS based on my experience of working with both these tech on real-world projects. You all know I’m a React gal ☺️, but I tried to keep an open mind when using Next JS in a few projects with quite complex frontend. I understand there are pros and cons to any technology, Next.js is super fast, provides cool features our of the box like image optimization, automatic server rendering, code splitting.. all the things we have to manually implement in React or use some external libraries. Though working with Next.js hasn’t always been smooth for me. One of the main reason imho is significant gaps in documentation, smaller community support, fewer integrations with other technologies (in my experience, it was cumbersome to even integrate cookies). So to sum up, I understand what Next.js brings to the table and I have an unspoken developer’s oath to select the best tech for the given project, but I really really think it’s just not as mature yet to be applied to complex real world projects with a lot of 3rd party integrations. I prefer to spend more time optimizing a react app but having a flexibility and control over the features. What do you think about this? ☺️
