I am honestly so proud of how far we have come. It’s hard to realise how far you have come sometimes but here is my reminder. Not only how far we’ve come but how much calmer I feel in situations. So proud of Jade and how we switched up training and how much it’s helped us. I stopped controlling her as much, started giving her breed specific outlets, stopped forcing her into situations all the time and allowed her to be a dog ❤️😭

Sometimes the ✨intensity✨ of a reaction makes a lot more sense when you realize that a PROTECTIVE PART may still believe that you’re the age when it first started its role (think: slamming the door as if you’re a teen, when you’re actually 35). IFS teaches us that parts can get stuck in time until they’re updated and caught up on the present. Have you ever noticed a reaction where part of you felt much younger than your actual age?? Save this and come back to it when a reaction feels confusing!
