The November pick is here and it’s a special one. 💛 Monica Wood’s How to Read a Book is not only our November selection, but also the final book in my virtual Meagan’s Book Club. After five incredible years of reading, discussing, and connecting through stories, it feels fitting to close with a novel that celebrates the power of books to change lives. I grew up watching Mom read two books a week! As i aspire to nurture my reading habits and ensure i read more books this year, here are some of the books by my bedside. ‘Humankind’ by Rutger Bregman - Have read it once already, keep going back to it. It’s always by my bed side. ‘Cinema Speculation’ by Quentin Tarantino - the joy and privilege of reading a non fiction piece by one of the greatest of all time! A new year present from my husband. ‘The Lion Trackers Guide To Life’ by Boyd Varty - read and reread. Keep going back to the gems this book has to offer! One of my favourite gifts to give friends. Currently reading ‘Oneness With All Life’ by Eckhart Tolle - This book is everything i need to learn right now. Having read The Power Of Now, A New Earth and now this book Eckhart Tolle has helped me heal and learn to become more present and aware. Tell me what you are reading in the comments? I’ve wanted to share something like this for the longest time. To sit down at the end of a month and say, this is what I read, this is what kept me company. But uninterrupted reading is a luxury when your life in the city runs on unpredictable schedules, early call times, delayed flights, last-minute plans, and days that disappear before you even notice. Some months I read in waiting rooms. Some in cabs. Sometimes just a few pages before my eyes give up for the night. And still, I miss it when I don’t read. So this year, I’m choosing to be more deliberate about it. To protect small pockets of time. To carry a book in my bag again. To reach for pages instead of my phone. I want to read more than I ever have. Putting this out here is my way of holding myself accountable. If you’ve watched and read till here, thank you for caring about the quiet things with me. 🤍📚
