Did 10 days really disappear from history? In 1582, October 4 was followed by October 15! All because of the Gregorian Calendar reform. #education #didyouknowfacts #didyoukxnow #foryouシ゚ #foryouシpage

Mystery solved 1582 का रहस्यमय 🗓️1582 में 10 दिन अचानक गायब हो गए थे? 😮😱🤯 #calendar #gregorian #julian #mystry #reason #1582 The year 1582 is notable for the introduction of the Gregorian calendar by Pope Gregory XIII. This calendar reform aimed to correct a drift in the calculation of the date of Easter, which had been determined by the Julian calendar introduced by Julius Caesar in 45 BCE. The Julian calendar had a leap year every four years, which resulted in an error of about 11 minutes per year. Over centuries, this error added up, and by the 16th century, the calendar had drifted by about 10 days from the astronomical seasons. To correct this, Pope Gregory XIII introduced the Gregorian calendar in October 1582. The new calendar dropped 10 days from the month of October in that year, with October 4 being followed by October 15. Additionally, the Gregorian calendar refined the leap year rule to eliminate three leap years every 400 years, thereby maintaining greater accuracy in relation to the Earth's orbit around the Sun. The adoption of the Gregorian calendar was gradual. Catholic countries like Spain, Portugal, and Italy adopted it immediately, but many Eastern Orthodox countries continued to use the Julian calendar for a long time. For example, Russia and Greece did not adopt the Gregorian calendar until the 20th century. Today, the Gregorian calendar is the most widely used civil calendar in the world. 📆👏

Why February has only 28 Days? (It’s NOT Science!) 😱 We’ve all been taught the “Earth Rotation” logic, but that only explains the Leap Year! 🌍 The real reason February is short is because of a Roman King named Numa Pompilius and his fear of EVEN NUMBERS! 🚫2️⃣ He thought even numbers were unlucky, so he made months 29 or 31 days. But the math didn’t add up! One month had to be even. Since February was the month of “Purification and Death”, it got the “unlucky” 28 days. 💀 Later, Julius Caesar fixed the rest of the calendar (creating the 30/31 pattern we use today), but February was left behind! Get ready to dive into the fascinating world of lunar calendars! 🌕 The Easter cycle groups days into lunar months, which are either 29 or 30 days long. There's a twist - the month ending in March normally has 30 days, but if February 29th falls within it in a leap year, it contains 31 days! As these groups follow the lunar cycle, the average month is a great approximation of the 29.53059-day synodic month. A lunar year has 12 synodic months, totaling 354 or 355 days, which is about 11 days shorter than our calendar year. These extra days are called epacts! To keep our lunar calendar in sync, we need to add these epacts and insert an extra month every now and then. Mind blown, right?
