I recently had the pleasure of meeting with a writer from SalonFocus Magazine out of the UK! they were writing an article on toxic work environments, and I seen some of my posts about my experience in a toxic salon and how it’s been the motivation for me to create a new kind of salon where women support women and stylists support stylists! Somewhere were learning, leadership, and growth is valued. What I’ve realized recently is just because your salon environment is positive for some or even for most it’s not going to be for everyone! & that’s okay! Different strokes for different folks! Which is WHYYY.. hiring is so important! Having lots of of options and clear expectations for what it’s like to be on the team! && stylists that are looking for a salon home it’s important to interview them! ask lots of questions, maybe shadow for a day to vibe check the place!
