Her works is shaped by the rhythms of rural life and include Humble Roots: How Humility Grounds and Nourishes Your Soul and most recently Turning of Days: Lessons from Nature, Season, and Spirit and Heaven and Nature Sing. This is KIND of true…suffering is always an encounter with the reality of evil, and it always hurts, but it’s only when you get to Saint-level holiness that even the pain of suffering becomes a joy. For us Catholics who are not yet at Saint-level holiness, the pain of suffering still takes centre stage a lot of the time, but hopefully we can also experience a sense of peace and joy, even in times of intense suffering. This comes from the knowledge that Jesus entered into human suffering to redeem it and to tie it to love through the Cross, and that He also invites us to offer our sufferings in union with His sacrifice to join in the redemption of the world. It takes awhile for the head knowledge to makes its way to the heart, but at least when we know that there can be meaning in our suffering because of Christ’s suffering, we can start to see glimmers of hope and peace and joy, even in the midst of pain. . #redemptivesuffering #redemption #jesus #catholic #catholichumor #catholiclife #catholicsuffering #suffering #pain #youregonnasufferbutyouregonnabehappyaboutit #catholicchurch #catholicism #stpaul #salvificidoloris #redemptive
