We’re moving home to Ireland 🥺🇮🇪 Almost 7 years, 2 kids and an entire life here that we absolutely love. But the pull home has been getting stronger… and it just feels right. So tired of all the ABQ hate, we actually have some good things going on here 🙄 lol but seriously we have some good things that other states couldn’t touch if they tried! - one of the best climates in the US ☀️ - low cost of living and affordability (some argue but compare to other cities!) 💸 - Free childcare AND college 🤯 - Unique culture, food, and experiences 🎈 I don’t even blame people for wanting to move here from out of state! Moving home 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿👉🇦🇺 I didn’t really think about how weird this part would be… standing in the post office queue every day, sending off little pieces of the life I built here to complete strangers. I moved to England on my own thinking I’d stay a year or two… somehow it turned into 8. Now I’m selling my wardrobe and memories (luckily I’m not overly sentimental). However, slowly my room is becoming less mine which is a really weird feeling. It’s been a whole month since we moved back to the UK from Dubai 🥺 Here are some of my thoughts: ✨ although we had chosen to leave Dubai and were actively putting things in place to leave later this year, the war sped up our move and because of this we didn’t get to see many of our friends to say goodbye 🥺 so we feel like we are on an extended trip to the UK and haven’t really ‘settled’ yet ✨our shipping is still in a warehouse in Dubai and who knows when that might arrive. And it’s only ‘stuff’ but it adds to the temporary feeling ✨our main reason for leaving Dubai was to be close to family for our little boy. When he was born something clicked instantly and I just felt I needed to be close to family during this season of my life 🥺 ✨ the other main reason we left Dubai was because of the air quality. Before having my baby I didn’t even notice the air unless there was a sand storm but since having him I would check the air quality everyday and some days we would have to stay in because it was at such dangerous levels😩. Here in Kent we go out walking or running everyday and I don’t even consider the air or the heat- I am loving it 😊 ✨although we have moved back to the town we grew up in and we have lots of friends from school and childhood, it’s strange to come home and see how much everything and everybody has changed. Life didn’t stand still whilst we were away and everybody has their routines and friendship groups and so it really does feel a bit like ‘starting again’. It’s daunting making new friends but having a baby makes it easier 😬💖 ✨ UK supermarkets are the best! I love that you can get everything under one roof- back home in Dubai I would have to do our weekly shop across 2 or 3 different stores to get everything. But why do they open so late and close so early ☠️ ✨I made this page to hold myself accountable for running but also to document our move home so I will try to share more of that aspect as we go ✌🏻❤️‍🔥 #movinghome #relocating

You mean to tell me North Florida looks like THIS… and people are still willingly sitting in Orlando traffic every day? I think a lot of people searching “move to Florida” picture Miami high rises, crowded beaches, and packed interstates. But then they come up to the Florida Panhandle and realize there’s a completely different side of Florida. The kind with quiet mornings, back roads, beach sunsets, golf carts, and actual space to breathe. You can live near the beach without feeling overstimulated all the time. You can have slower days without giving up good restaurants, things to do, or beautiful water. Honestly, I think that’s why so many people relocating to Florida end up falling in love with places like the Emerald Coast, 30A, Destin, Navarre, and the quieter towns outside of them. It feels like the version of life people were hoping Florida would be. If you’re new here I did a post a few weeks ago about relocating to the UK The comments section was wilddddly mixed with so many people absolutely hating on Britain and it’s made me sad to see how many people have such bad things to say about it If you ever get the chance to travel then please do because trust me, when you’ve been to countries that suffer and struggle so so much & have the bare minimum, you’ll start to feel a bit more grateful for what you have at home 🇬🇧 I also find when I’m talking to people about gorgeous spots in the UK they are like ‘oh yeah actually it is soo nice there’ etc etc and I just find that people are fixating on the negative rather than trying to look on the bright side a little bit more ☀️ #lifeinengland #lifeinbritain #brits #gratitude #relocating
