When they said the ice cream was poppin they meant it. 🍦💥🫰🏻 @flarenfest NOT DRY ICE - Liquid nitrogen is −196°C and immediately boils into nitrogen gas when mixed with the ice cream base. When prepared properly, there’s no liquid nitrogen left in the final product. The visible vapor doesn’t mean liquid nitrogen is still present … it was extremely hot and humid out, so the temperature difference makes the gas visible. Quick note since there are hundreds of comments saying the same thing: she was not eating dry ice. It was liquid nitrogen ice cream from a festival vendor and served properly. We spoke with them beforehand and she was supervised the entire time. I understand people mean well, but there are a lot of assumptions being made by people who weren’t there. We were informed and present the whole time. Mel is fine and thoroughly enjoyed this experience.
