Prepare your lineart and base colour. 2. Duplicate the base colour layer and merge it. Keep an untouched copy for backup in case you want to revert! 3. Duplicate the merged base colour, alpha lock it, and paint over it with the background colour. This keeps your painting contained. 4. Lower the opacity of this layer, then merge it with the base colour. This helps the base colour take on the hue of the background, creating a more cohesive look. 5. Duplicate the base colour again. Use adjustments to increase brightness, then tweak hue and saturation to your preference. This will be your light layer. 6. Duplicate the base colour once more. Adjust to decrease brightness, then adjust hue and saturation accordingly. This creates your shadow layer. 7. Place the shadow layer above the light layer. Erase areas where light would hit. Remember to think about the direction of the light 💡 8. Finally, start rendering😭💓 Remember, this is just my personal workflow. Feel free to experiment with different layer modes and adjustments!
