If you’re in your mid to late 20s and haven’t started using a retinoid yet, consider this your sign ✨ Here’s what you need to know when starting ✅ start 2-3 nights a week ✅ apply a pea size amount to clean, dry skin ✅ moisturize ✅ skip other strong actives on retinoid nights ✅ NEVER forget morning SPF And remember, consistency is key! 👏 #skincare #retinoid #skincaretips #dermatologist

How much retinol or retinoid are you using? If you’re prone to irritation, keep it to a pea size or less and divide it all over the face by dotting it around, then follow that with a moisturizer. Vitamin C serum is 3-5 drops for the face and neck. #dermatologist #dermatology #vitaminc #vitamincserum #retinol #retinoid #antiaging #skincare #antiagingskincare

Taking breaks from tretinoin is not a good idea. When you first introduce it to your skincare routine there’s a process called refunisation: this causes redness, irritation, peeling, soreness- you name it! It’s not pleasant at the start but once your akin adapts it settles down and you start to see the benefits: collagen stimulation, pigmentation control, acne control, a brighter and even skin tone. So don’t take a break even in the summer. Just wear your SPF and your covered #tretinoin #retinoids #retinol #retinal #retinoid

Differin Gel is powerful! You only need the smallest amount of Differin Gel to get amazing results! ✨ We recommend applying a pea sized amount of Differin Gel over your whole face for 90 days to see best results with your acne. 📆 #Differin #Acne #DifferinGel #GetConsistentlyClearerSkin #Retinoid

5️⃣Common Retinoid Mistakes You Are Making! 😱 Mistake #1: Using your retinoid like tretinoin during the day! ☀️ 👉many retinoids become unstable in sunlight and also shown in studies to be affected by artificial lights indoors Mistake #2: applying too much retinoid! 😬 👉you only need a green pea sized amount for your entire face (don’t spot treat too) Mistake #3: you’re applying it over Damp 💦 skin 👉this will increase absorption and lead to higher risks of getting a contact dermatitis on your face 😢 Mistake #4: you’re not applying moisturizer 🧴 after your retinoid 👉do not skip this step! Mistake #5: you’re applying it on sensitive areas of the face (eyelids and nasal creases)- no your nasal crease does not need it 👉protect areas with moisturizer before applying your retinoid 💫 If you want to treat around the eyes, 👀 use a dedicated retinol eye cream as this is a much lower potency and has less chances of causing irritation around the eyes/eyelids Why do we care about retinoids? They work on fine lines/wrinkles, acne and hyperpigmentation. This magical stuff needs to be used the right way though or else we can get a gnarly red rash on our face! Hope this helps! 😎🤙 #contactdermatitis #retinol #retinoid #tretinoin #antiagingskincare #howtouseretinoid #howtouseretinol

No skin treatment works overnight! Been on arazlo since June 2024 and got the glowiest skin everrr now but that doesn’t mean hormonal breakouts don’t still happen. 🥰 #realskintexture #skincaretips #acnejourney #arazlo #skincare #acnetreatment #retinoid #accutane

Comment “READY” and I’ll send you my retinoid-ready cheatsheet. I see so many people lose trust in their skin at this stage. That doesn’t need to happen. This is about giving your skin what it needs before you ask more of it. Think Prep. Energise. Activate. #retinoid #skinbarrier #skinbarrierrepair #retinoids #skincaretips

You can see I’m inflammed, red and a bit dry from too much tretinoin (I did 5 nights in a row). I used a generous amount of calming moisturizer first and that feels nice. Next I applied a tinted sunscreen. It looks white and cakey thanks to my dry, aggravated skin so I apply Vaseline just to my eyebrows, lips and around the nose where I was particularly flaky. Tonight I’ll skip night retinoid and just use a heavy moisturizer. Restart in a day. #moisturizer #retinol #tretinoin #retinoid #skincare

😣 retinoids are powerful, proven, and worth it—but only if you stay consistent and use them correctly!!! Did any of these surprise you? #retinoid #tretinoin #skincaretips #dermatologist #retinol

How to Apply A Retinoid Like a Derm! The golden rule: one pea-sized amount. Not more, not less. A pea is enough for your entire face—forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin. Dot it evenly, then gently spread a thin layer. Why it’s worth it: Retinoids boost cell turnover, stimulate collagen, smooth fine lines, unclog pores, and help fade dark spots and acne over time. With consistent use, they improve skin texture, tone, and overall clarity—making them one of the most dermatologist-trusted ingredients for long-term skin health. More product ≠ faster results. It only means more irritation. Consistency, patience, and the right amount are what get you that glow #retinoid #retinol #dermatologist #retinolserum #tretinoin

If you can’t tolerate tretinoin… have you tried retinal? Retinal (aka retinaldehyde) is one step closer to retinoic acid than retinol, meaning it works faster (than retinol) and is often better tolerated than tretinoin for a lot of people. 💊 Pharmacology breakdown: Retinal → converts once → retinoic acid (the active form your skin actually uses) But it’s still a retinoid and you can STILL overdo it. Counseling Point: Start low, go slow, moisturize, and SPF is non-negotiable during the day.
