I am now beginning my 9th treatment for RA. I had tried 2 different treatments before Remicade. I took Remicade for two years and it worked very well for me. Insurance then decided they no longer wanted to cover this drug. So I started over. I tried 4 more treatments before finding another that would work for me. I started Rituximab 6 months ago. I went in for my appointment today and was told insurance is not paying for that drug. And now I am beginning my 9th treatment - Rinvoq. It is truly criminal that insurance decides what treatments a patient can get and which they cannot regardless of what works for them. This has been years of suffering trying to find treatments that work. And I know there are many others going thru this as well and even worse. I am upset and frustrated and worried about the transition of beginning yet another new treatment. I hope and pray this one works. And my heart and prayers go out to those dealing with these healthcare battles. It’s a tough enough road dealing with health issues and it’s made even tougher dealing with approvals and denials and billing and all the bureaucracy involved. Big hugs my fellow warriors! I know I could use one!
