This is the Warm Audio RingerBringer Ring Modulation Pedal. It’s basically a clone of the Moog MF-102 Moogerfooger Ring Modulator that Moog no longer produces. Picked this up on sale for $169, less than half the price of a used Moogerfooger pedal. Thank you @warmaudio for bringing this back. It sounds amazing! I’ve hardly scratched the surface of this semi-modular pedal. It’s got CV connections for LFO rate, amount, and carrier in/out. Some people say Robby Krieger is doing it with a slide on his guitar. And some just say it was some weird recording trick. BUT it was actually a Maestro Oberheim Ring Modulator! On the extended intro of LA Woman you can hear Robby play ‘My Country Tis Of Thee’ with the modulation setting cranked before he hits that open E string and slides the pitch to ring in the iconic beginning of ‘LA Woman’. We love this kind of stuff and it’s very important to us to keep this vintage equipment on the road and playing the music it was made to play. We created a Ring Mod Delay patch with Atlantix, Sealegs, Ring Mod 1U and Aux Mix 1U. With this combination, the feedback from the delay evolves through the ring modulator, causing the echoes to morph with each repeat. It can produce some wild results.
