✨Perfect White Rice✨ Ingredients: 1 cup long grain basmati rice (I use the brand Wafa) Water Salt Directions: 1. Wash the rice 3 times and soak in lukewarm water for a minimum of 30 mins before cooking 2. Fill a large pot 3/4 of the way and bring water to a boil. Season with salt as you would be boiling pasta 3. Drain your rice that’s been soaking and add the rice into the boiling water 4. Once the water begins to boil, boil for 5 mins. The rice will still feel hard and uncooked but that’s how it should be. 5. Strain your rice completely and add the rice back into your pot 6. Place the pot on the smallest burner over the lowest flame. Cover the pot tightly and let the remainder of the rice cook in the steam for 10 mins. Do not open the lid in this time. The steam finishes the cooking process and gives your rice that fluffy texture 7. Remove the lid and fluff up rice with your fork 8. Enjoy #perfectrice #whiterice #basmatirice #rice

Yellow Rice 🍚 The perfect accompaniment to slow cooked meats, bbq or shawarma bowls! 2 cups basmati rice 3 tbs ghee or butter 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp onion powder 1 tsp turmeric powder 2 tsp salt (adjust depending on salt level of chicken stock) 2 bay leaves 4 cardamom pods 4 cups chicken stock Sauté the washed basmati rice in ghee for 1 minute. Then add the salt, garlic powder, onion powder and turmeric and mix it in. Next add the chicken stock, bay leaves and cardamom pods. Once the water level reduces to the same level as the rice, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot with a lid and let it cook for 15 minutes. Then open the lid, remove the whole spices and fluff up the rice. Transfer to a serving dish to prevent clumping. Cover the rice to prevent drying if you’re not eating it right away.
