Uber is committing $100M to build a fast-charging network for its robotaxi fleet, starting in LA, Dallas, and the San Francisco Bay Area. Hubs will be built at AV depots — where robotaxis are cleaned, maintained, and inspected — plus smaller "pit stop" chargers at convenient city locations for mid-shift top-ups. Uber has signed utilization guarantee agreements with EVgo in New York, LA, Boston, and San Francisco, and with Electra, Hubber, and Ionity in major European cities. The company is partnering with AV and EV players including Lucid, Nuro, May Mobility, and Momenta, aiming to better compete with leaders such as Waymo and Tesla. It expects to offer autonomous rides in at least 10 cities by end of 2026. “With the benefit of learning from multiple AV deployments around the world, we're more convinced than ever that AVs will unlock a multitrillion-dollar opportunity for Uber,” CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said. “AVs amplify the fundamental strengths of our platform, global scale, deep demand density, sophisticated marketplace technology, and decades of on-the-ground experience matching riders, drivers, and vehicles, all in real time,” he added. #UBER #UBERStock #Robotaxi #AutonomousVehicles #SelfDrivingCars

Zoox is currently FREE to use in Vegas - as of February 2026, but not sure if / when that will change. Keep in mind that there are designated pick-up and drop-off locations, mostly along the Vegas strip. And since it’s free, wait times can be long, so plan accordingly; just don’t expect it to come right away once you order it. When downloading the Zoox app, it won’t work on Canadian phones (unless you have North American wide coverage?) Workarounds for Canadian phones: Try changing app account settings to US, as the app is currently only available in US. The designated pick-up and drop-off locations for Zoox in Vegas are; Resorts World Las Vegas, AREA15, Topgolf, New York-New York Hotel & Casino, Luxor Hotel & Casino, Wynn and Fashion Show Las Vegas. We used Zoox a few times In Vegas and regardless of its limitations, it was FREE so we liked it.
