5 things I wish someone told me before my first race!!! 🏃🏼♀️✍🏻 1. You probably won’t sleep the night before & it’s normal!! Don’t stress too much about it. Nerves are part of it & once you’re on that start line your adrenaline & excitement will push you through!! 2. Don’t try anything new on race day. No new shoes, no new running fits, socks, and most importantly fuel. Do not. I repeat… DO NOT take that gel they handed you at the expo 😭 3. Start slower than you want to. The excitement you feel may make you want to run fast but don’t do it!! Conserve your energy. Save that energy for the final stretch. Your future self will thank you!! 4. The energy from the crowd is unreal. Let it carry you through!! 5. You will get emotional at the finish line. Let it happen!! The amount of people I saw crying and full of emotions crossing that finish line….You just accomplished something you’ve been training 3+ months for.
