✨4 exercises to improve running stride✨ Improving your stride isn’t about making it LOOK perfect, but about making it efficient, comfortable, & low injury risk. Adding specific strength exercises is one way to improve your running stride. ⬇️Exercise Details⬇️ 1. Banded single leg RDL with knee drive: works on single leg strength & stability as well as strengthens the posterior chain which helps to propel us forward during running. 2. Banded lateral lunge to knee drive: this exercise works the muscles in the frontal plane which help control side to side movement during running. 3. Banded march to external rotation: this exercise works the hip flexors in multiple planes. The hip flexors drive the knee up and forward during swing phase. 4. Front foot elevated reverse lunge to knee drive: this exercise targets the glutes, hamstrings, & quads while also working on single leg strength & stability. Try 2-3 sets of 8-10 reps for each of these exercises! I hope these are helpful!🤗 #physicaltherapy #physicaltherapist #running #runnersofinstagram #fitness #strengthtraining #strengthtrainingforrunners #runner #marathontraining #injuryprevention

The way you WARM UP affects the way you RUN ⬇️ Speed isn’t something that suddenly appears in a sprint. It starts with how well you prepare your body beforehand. 1️⃣ Straight Leg Bounce • Activates lower legs & feet for elastic ground contact • Teaches you to stay tall and strike underneath your body • Builds stiffness through the ankle for better rebound 2️⃣ High Knees • Forces strong knee lift & hip position • Trains quick turnover & active foot contact • Reinforces upright posture & forward movement • Engages the core to stay stable while running 3️⃣ Single Leg Knee Drive • Develops balance & unilateral strength • Improves hip stability & explosive knee drive 4️⃣ Frog Jumps • Builds explosive power through hips & glutes • Full extension when pushing off the ground • Strengthens triple extension for sprinting #running #sport #education

3 DRILLS for a dynamic running form and a better coordination. To optimize the impact of drills, add 3-4 100m submaximal strides (not all out, 85-90%) 🔥 But why are these “coordination drills “ important for runners? Coordination refers to the interaction of certain muscle groups for the optimal use of available forces aimed to maximise performance. What does that mean for us runners? Good coordination can help you to channel the trained muscle power correctly and achieve higher speed with the smaller energy loss. With better coordination your running style becomes more economic and efficient. Therefore, improved coordination also plays an important role in injury prevention. So get ready and give these drills a try! And don’t get frustrated if you don’t get it right at the first try. 🧠 They are a great neuromuscular training, improving your mind-muscle connection So save this reel and incorporate the above exercises into your next run! 💪🏼 #running #runningtips #runningdrills #runningcoach #runninggirl #runningmotivation #marathontraining #runfast

More info 👇 🤯 Most runners aren’t running. They’re just walking fast. ❌ Overstriding ❌ Straight leg ❌ Heel striking out in front That force gets dumped into your knees, hips, lower back and ankles. Running is up to 2-3x** your bodyweight. It has to go somewhere. ✅ Bent knee ✅ Midfoot strike ✅ Foot towards your centre of mass ✅ Cycle, don’t reach That’s how you tap into your elastic chain. Less ground contact time. More bounce. Less pain. Comment ‘FYS’ to level up your running 🔥 Correction** running takes 2-3 times our bodyweight, the Achilles can take up to 6-7 😅 #runners #Running #runner #run

RUNNING TIP: Down AND back ✨✨ Let gravity do the work by emphasizing the strike down in running, but in order to really GET SOMEWHERE you alas have to move forward with your cadence, and that’s where the “…AND back” comes in! Where to try it out: next run, give it a try when: ✨You want to increase your pace ✨You are doing speed intervals ✨During your warm up strides ✨When your speed is all out Or even when you just want to see if it works 🙌 Happy running ❤️🫶
