This is a very simplified list of what we do in our home, not because it’s trendy or convenient, but because we’ve found peace in aligning with Scripture. And really it doesn’t need to be anymore complicated anyway. On the Sabbath, • I don’t cook. I do my best to have our meals prepped ahead of time so I can use that time differently on Sabbath. • I don’t clean. We just pick up after ourselves as needed. Dishes are very much piled in the sink on Sabbath if we are home. • I don’t make others work. • I don’t buy or sell. We prepare beforehand, rest from striving, and set the day apart as holy… just like Scripture teaches. (Exodus 20:8–10, Deuteronomy 5:14, Isaiah 58:13–14) It’s not about rules; it’s about remembering. That He is our Provider. It’s about Him telling us it’s a Sign between Him and His people. We do: • read the scriptures • gather with other believers • serve each other and the body But don’t take my word for it. Open the Word. Read it together as a family. Ask the Spirit to lead you and your husband in what honoring the Sabbath looks like for your home.
